Aaron Duczak moved all in for 30,000 in early position, Kimon Fountoukidis put in his last 20,000 in middle position, and Vivian Saliba had both players at risk from the button.
Duczak found the K♥ in the window, but it was followed by J♥2♥ as Saliba hit a set. The turn came the 5♣ and Duczak and Fountoukidis were already drawing dead heading to the 7♥ river as Saliba scored the double knockout.
Ren Lin raised to 3,200 in early position and Anestis Anagnostidis called in the hijack. Wooram Cho then moved all in for 28,500 in the small blind and Lin reshoved for 67,300.
"No Gamble, No Future," Lin said, tossing his patch over to Anagnostidis who eventually folded.
Wooram Cho: A♥9♦
Ren Lin: 5♠4♣
"Cooler. Good game," Lin told Cho as the 8♦3♦6♣ flop gave him a straight draw. The 10♥ turn and Q♠ river completed the board and Cho doubled up with ace-high.
"Next time," Anagnostidis added.
The next hand, Cho shoved again from the button. "Come on, Lady Gaga," Lin said as he peeked at his cards before calling for 35,000.
Ren Lin: Q♣J♦
Wooram Cho: A♥10♥
Lin hit a pair on the K♠9♠J♠ flop, while Cho missed the 4♥ turn and 3♣ river as the two players wound up right back where they started.
Oliver Huber opened to 3,500 from under the gun before Jareth East moved all in for 32,000 from middle position. Arvin Vahdat also called off his stack of 17,000 from the small blind. Huber called as the covering stack.
Arvin Vahdat: 9♥8♥
Jareth East: J♠J♥
Oliver Huber: 8♣8♠
East had the best of it and remained that way on the Q♣6♣5♣ pot but Huber locked up the hand on the 9♣ turn. The 10♥ river completed the board.
The following hand, Dan Maricuta opened to 3,200 from the cutoff and Huber called from the big blind.
On the 10♣9♣4♦ bet Huber check-raised to 10,500 after Maricuta put out a bet. The latter called.
Huber fired for 17,500 on the 7♥ turn and after some thought, Maricuta called once more. Huber shoved on the 5♣ river and Maricuta snap-folded.
Viacheslav Svyshchov opened to 3,200 from middle position and was called by Siarhei Chudapal on his direct left. Jin-Hoon Lee three-bet to 11,500 from the hijack. Andrej Desset cold-called from the button. Svyshchov and Chudapal also called to set up a big pot.
Action checked to Lee on the A♠7♥4♦ flop. He bet 18,000 and saw Desset and Svyshchov quickly folded. Chudapal stuck around.
Chudapal then quickly check-called for 25,000 on the 7♣ turn, which brought in the 2♣ river. Chudapal, with 89,000 behind, checked and Lee announced all in as the big stack. Chudapal went deep into the tank and then open-folded A♣Q♣.
Chudapal implored Lee to show. "You wanna see?" asked Lee and tabled 5♦5♣ for a big bluff that drew gasps from the table.
Renat Bohdanov raised to 3,500 in early position, Marcello Miniucchi three-bet to 11,500 in the cutoff, and Manig Loeser four-bet to 20,000 on the button.
Bohdanov then moved all in and Loeser called and turned over his cards before Miniucchi had a chance to act. Miniucchi also stuck in his last 13,500.
Miniucchi was third-best heading to the flop, which came A♦10♣4♦ and shot him into the lead with top pair. The board ran out 6♠8♠ and he tripled up, while Loeser doubled off Bohdanov for the 67,000 he had left over after paying off Miniucchi.
Late registration for the first-ever WSOPE Mystery Bounty has come to a close.
There have been 803 entries, and just 261 of those remain. Day 1 will close when 161 players remain. Those players will return to King's Resort at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, for Day 2.
Day 2 will see the mystery bounty prizes come into play, and they range from €300 to €30,000.
€803,000 has been collected, meaning €562,100 will be in the regular prize while the remainder will be allocated for the bounty prizes.
Alexandra Botez raised to 4,000 from early position without realizing Shawn Stroke had already moved all in for 24,000. Botez was given the option of surrendering the 4,000, but she elected to call Stroke's shove.
"It will be fun either way," Stroke said as he and Botez began chatting about Clash of Clans as Ismet Oral tanked for a minute before also calling. Action then folded to Junhyoung Ki who pushed his last 68,500 in the middle. Botez folded, while Oral called.
Ki held his hands together in prayer as the board ran out 6♥8♣10♦J♥7♣, keeping his fives in the lead earning him a double up through Oral, while Stroke was eliminated. "Crazy game," Stroke said on his way to the rail.
Botez admitted she folded ace-nine suited and would've made a straight to win the pot. "The all-in king," she christened Ki.
Alexandra Botez made her name in the chess world, building a streaming empire that has seen her amass more than one million followers on both Twitch and YouTube. Her first step in conquering the world of poker began with making it through Day 1 of the €1,100 Mystery Bounty at the World Series of Poker Europe.
Botez was one of 161 players who bagged chips at the end of the night, finishing with 168,000. She had her first taste of WSOP success when she cashed in the Main Event this summer and will have her sights set on her second cash when Day 2 resumes at 2 p.m. local time tomorrow inside King’s Resort in Rozvadov.
Jacob Amsellem holds the chip lead with 440,000, followed by Samuel Ju (412,000), Demetrio Caminita (385,000), Anestis Anagnostidis (354,000), and Marco Poccia (341,000). Nicola Karl built up his massive stack when he rivered a set of aces after Michael Rodrigues turned a set of fours, busting the WSOP bracelet winner in a nearly 300,000 chip pot. Karl later made quad sevens and got paid on the river on his way to bagging up 337,000.

A total of 803 players packed into the tournament room on Day 1 to chase the bracelet and mystery bounty prizes. Not everyone was fortunate enough to make it through, and over the course of nearly 15 levels the likes of Felipe Ramos, Alex Keating, Ren Lin, Ole Schemion, and Jessica Teusl all hit the rail. Wooram Cho, who’s already cashed five times so far at the WSOPE, fired nine bullets trying to claim another prize but came up empty each time.
More than the WSOPE gold bracelet will be at stake tomorrow. The mystery bounty prizes kick in, with players hoping to pull one of the top €30,000 prizes. The exact distribution of the mystery bounty envelopes, as well as the total prize pool, will be announced shortly after play resumes. There will be 26 minutes left on Level 15 with blinds of 1,500-3,000 and a 3,000 big blind ante.
The plan is to play down from 161 all the way to a winner, so Day 2 should be an incredibly long, arduous journey for someone hoping to achieve WSOP glory. PokerNews will be back following the journey and providing live updates as the field plays on toward the final table and the crowning of a champion.
