Welcome to Day 2 of the 2022 Wynn Millions $1,600 PLO/NLH!

Scott Stewart
Scott Stewart

On Tuesday, the 2022 Wynn Millions $1,600 PLO/NLH event crushed its $100K GTD by attracting 194 runners, which generated a $282,270 prize pool. Today, the surviving 21 players will return to battle down to a winner, who will receive a $78,078 first-place prize.

The top 20 finishers will make the money and earn a minimum payday of $3,921, meaning just one player will need to fall to burst the bubble. That player likely won't be Miltiadis Kyriakides, who begins Day 2 as the chip leader with 625,000. Hot on his heels with an even 600,000 is Daniel Swartz followed by Erez Gabay, who starts with 578,000.

Others still in contention include Florian Duta (473,000), Scott Stewart (470,000), Jesse Yaginuma (353,000), Vincent Moscati (122,000), and Uri Reichenstein (90,000).

Action will resume at 1 p.m. local time with the blinds at 3,000/6,000/6,000 and PokerNews will offer periodic updates leading up to the final table and until a winner is crowned!

Level 17 (4,000/8,000/8,000)

It took about an hour to lose the first player on Day 2, and that's because players were playing pretty snug on the money bubble.

Ultimately it was Eric Wigg, who began the day as the short stack, who fell in a hand of pot-limit Omaha (PLO) after getting his short stack in with {a-}{k-}{7-}{7-} against three callers. Jarod Minghini was one of them and flopped the nuts holding {10-}{9-}{8-}{7-} on a flop of {6-}{9-}{10-}.

Minghini wound up winning the pot and Wigg left empty-handed in 21st place.

Schutten Claims Final High Roller Tournament of 2022 Wynn Millions

Brekstyn Schutten
Brekstyn Schutten

On Wednesday, after busting just short of the money in the $10 million guaranteed Wynn Millions Main Event, Brekstyn Schutten shipped Event #5 in the Wynn High Roller series. He defeated a field of 43 entrants en route to victory in the $15,000 buy-in tournament.

The ICU nurse from Michigan had a tough uphill battle to overcome at the final table. He entered just fourth in chips out of seven players. But he dominated play throughout and came out victorious.

Dragana Lim, the last woman standing in the 2021 WSOP Main Event, took seventh place for $25,800. Dan Smith, one of the best players ever to have never won a WSOP title, went out in sixth place ($38,700). PokerGO founder Cary Katz ended up in fourth place ($70,950), and Schutten dusted off Stanley Tang ($141,900) heads-up to win the tournament.
