Leading the 43 survivors from a total field of 300 is Austrian high roller regular Thomas Muehloecker, sitting on a massive stack of 1,127,000. Closest to catching the runaway chipleader is Dean Geistlinger with 758,000. Steven Veneziano, who bagged 703,000, rounds out the top three.

Several notable were among the players to find a bag for Day 2, including 2021 Wynn Millions champion Andrew Moreno (521,000), WSOP gold bracelet winner Boris Kolev (314,000) and three time bracelet winner Kristen Foxen (283,00), whose husband Alex Foxen is currently making a deep run in WSOP Event #50: $250,000 Super High Roller No-Limit Hold'em.

There were also several big names who entered the fray but did not emerge out the other side. They include poker commentator Jeff Platt, who made one of the best calls in poker history to no avail, second on the all time live earnings list Justin Bonomo and bracelet winner Andrew Lichtenberger.

Bag and Tag

Niveau 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Survivors at the end of Day 1a are now bagging and tagging to return for Day 2 on Monday, June 27.

Stay tuned for end-of-day counts and a recap of the day's action.

Four More Hands

Niveau 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

The tournament director has announced that there will be four more hands played today before the remaining players bag and tag.

Schutten Takes More From Foxen

Niveau 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Brek Schutten limped from the small blind and Kristen Foxen checked her option out of the big blind.

Schutten checked on the {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop and called after Foxen led out for 10,000.

The {q-Hearts} turn saw Schutten check for a second time and Foxen, undeterred by her opponent's previous call, toss 35,000 into the middle. Schutten was equally unconvinced and made the call.

Action checked through the {2-Hearts} river and Schutten showed down {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, good enough to take another pot off Foxen. "There's always one player," joked Fred Goldberg as Schutten dragged in his newly acquired chips. "Like every time!" agreed Foxen.

Nussrallah Scores Huge Double Knockout

Niveau 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Stephen Nussrallah

A player in middle position was all in and had been called by Daniel Rezaei from one seat over. Stephen Nussrallah then re-jammed from the small blind, covering both other players and causing Rezaei to go into the tank. Eventually Rezaei emerged having decided to call to setup the three-way all in.

Middle Position Player: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Daniel Rezaei: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Stephen Nussrallah: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Rezaei was in dire straits while the other two players were locked in what would typically be a flip but with Rezaei holding an ace the middle position player was slightly favoured. The {2-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop changed little but the {5-Hearts} turn did give Rezaei life. It was not to be, however, after the {k-Spades} landed on the river, dashing both Rezaei's and the middle position player's hopes of making it to Day 2 while giving an enormous boost to Nussrallah's stack.

Cheong Runs Into Foxen's Rockets

Niveau 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Joseph Cheong
Joseph Cheong

Joseph Cheong had gotten his 109,000 chips in from the cutoff and was at risk against Kristen Foxen in early position.

Joseph Cheong: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Kristen Foxen: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

The {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop and {j-Clubs} turn provided more of a sweat as the table watched in anticipation, but the {3-Diamonds} river bricked out and sent Cheong to the rail, while Foxen added to her stack.

Zarco Coolers and Collects

Niveau 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Just before the blinds went up, Javier Zarco opened to 8,000 from early position and the small blind jammed for approximately 60,000. Zarco called.

Small Blind: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Javier Zarco: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Zarco had a slightly better pocket pair, and the board ran out {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} to eliminate his opponent, while Zarco collected the pot.
