Obara Picks Off Bluff

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Jun Obara
Jun Obara

Jun Obara opened to 1,800 from late position and was called by Jeff Platt in the small blind as well as the player in the big blind.

All three players checked through the {5-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop to the {5-Clubs} turn at which point Platt led out for 2,000. That got the big blind player to fold but Obara, unconvinced, called.

Platt fired off a second barrel, this time pushing a meatier 11,000 into the middle, on the {q-Diamonds} river. Obara clearly did not believe his opponent and made a quick call. "Jack and an eight, probably not great," rhymed Platt as he showed down {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for the missed flush draw. Great or not, it was not good enough to win the pot as Obara held {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for top pair.

Quads for Rezaei

Daniel Rezaei
Daniel Rezaei

With roughly 40,000 in the pot on a {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs} board, Bin Weng checked the big blind, Daniel Rezaei bet 4,500 on the button, and Weng called.

"Quads," Rezaei announced as he flipped over {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for a piece of almost all of the board, and he added the chips to his stack.

Cruising in the $250k, Is 2022 Phil Ivey's Best WSOP Ever?

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

It's not a matter if, but when will Phil Ivey become just the second player ever to win that elusive 11th World Series of Poker gold bracelet. Perhaps, he's just a day away, especially if he continues to dominate Event #50: $250,000 Super High Roller No-Limit Hold'em.

Ivey's been stuck on 10 since 2014, tied for second with Johnny Chan and Doyle Brunson. He still has his work cut out for him to catch Phil Hellmuth, who holds the record with 16 WSOP titles. But it's clear now that he's as focused now to win bracelets as was in the 2000s.

Speiser Nails River

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

A player opened to 1,600 from under the gun and action folded to Hannes Speiser in the cutoff who called.

The flop came {3-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and the preflop raiser continued for 2,200. Speiser called to send the two players to the turn.

On the {7-Clubs} turn the under the gun player continued their aggression with a bet of 4,400. Speiser, undeterred, made the call.

The under the gun player slowed down on the {j-Spades} river, checking to Speiser who fired off 12,500. His opponent responded by raising enough to put Speiser all in. After thinking for a short period of time, Speiser called. The under the gun player turned over {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for top pair but it was not good enough as Speiser revealed he held {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for the rivered set.

Palmer's Aces Eliminate Opponent

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

An early position player opened and a middle position player three-bet to 5,300. The hijack called, the button called, and Ben Palmer jammed for 46,300 in the small blind. Only the middle position player called for their stack of approximately 30,000.

Opponent: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Ben Palmer: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

The board ran out {4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Clubs} to secure the pot for Palmer with his rockets, as his opponent made his exit from the tournament area.

Dubonnet Chipping Up

Niveau 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Samy Dubonnet opened to 1,200 from under the gun and was three-bet to 3,800 by a player in middle position. Action folded back around to Dubonnet who made the call to send the two players heads-up to the flop.

On a flop of {4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} Dubonnet checked and then raised to 5,300 after his opponent led out for 1,300. That raise was enough to get a fold and send another pot Dubonnet's way.
