Hand #38 - 41: De Rooij Slipping

Niveau 33 : 125,000/250,000, 25,000 ante

Hand #38: Uri Reichenstein raised to 575,000 on the button with {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}. Adam Owen picked up {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} in the big blind and three-bet to 1,900,000. Reichenstein snap-folded and Owen picked up the pot.

Hand #39:: Thomas de Rooij raised to 500,000 on the button with {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}. Adam Owen had {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} in the small blind and put in another three-bet, this time to 1,500,000. De Rooij counted out his chips and made the call.

The flop {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} kept Owen with a strong lead on the hand. Owen continued with a bet of 1,100,000 and De Rooij folded. De Rooij slipped to 24 big blinds after the hand.

Hand #40: Thomas de Rooij raised to 525,000 under the gun with {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}. Adam Owen called on the button with {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, Adam Malec called from the small blind with {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}, and Uri Reichenstein defended his big blind with {Q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, creating the first family pot of the day.

The flop was {Q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, which moved Reichenstein in the lead with a pair of queens. All players elected to check the flop. On the {3-Clubs} turn, Malec checked, Reichenstein bet 825,000, getting the rest to fold.

Hand #41: Sebastian Malec raised to 500,000 on the button with {K-Hearts}{7-Spades}, taking down the blinds and antes

Hand #42: Reichenstein Takes A Huge Chunk From Owen

Niveau 33 : 125,000/250,000, 25,000 ante
Adam Owen
Adam Owen

Hand #42: Sebastian Malec limped in for 250,000 under the gun with {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Uri Reichenstein raised to 800,000 on the button holding {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}. Adam Owen called out of the big blind with {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}, and Malec called as well.

The {Q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop brought something for everyone to work with. Owen checked, Malec checked, and Reichenstein bet 1,500,000. Owen check-raised to 3,100,000, getting Malec to fold his second pair. Reichenstein smooth-called in position.

The turn was the {8-Spades}, which would have improved Malec's hand to two pair. Owen checked to Reichenstein, and the German shoved all in. It was a bet of 9,375,000 total, slightly bigger than the pot of 8,525,000.

The shove was for 75% of Owen's remaining stack, which sent the Brit deep in the tank. It took him nearly six minutes before he called, creating the biggest pot of the tournament so far.

Owen got the bad news when the cards went open, drawing to the two remaining queens to survive. Although the final table had it's fair share of bad beats, this time the best hand stayed ahead when the {A-Hearts} hit the river.

Reichenstein catapulted to a monster chiplead. Owen took a big hit to his stack and remained behind with just 12 big blinds.

Hands #43 - #47: Owen Doubles Back Through Thomas De Rooij

Niveau 33 : 125,000/250,000, 25,000 ante
Adam Owen
Adam Owen

Hand #43: After that incredible previous hand, Adam Owen shoves for 11 big blinds with {K-Clubs}{J-Spades} and gets it through. He'll need to keep that aggression up to play himself back into contention.

Hands #44 -#46: With a series of raise and takes, Uri Reichenstein maintains a large lead and is up to 107BB. That's almost ten times what Adam Owen has and the British player desperately needs a double-up. The last one was with {K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} blind-on-blind against Thomas De Rooij with a shove from the small blind.

Hand #47: Thomas De Rooij moved all-in with {Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts} from the small blind for 4,875,000 and Adam Owen called with the {K-Spades}{2-Spades} in the big blind.

With Adam Owen at risk, he needed to hold, and to raucous cheers from both the British and Dutch rails, the board of {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{6-Spades}{10-Hearts} saw Adam Owen double-up. He is now right back in it with 22 big blinds, but Thomas De Rooij goes to the break that has just been started with just 5 bigs and a dream.

New Level, Less Time

Niveau 34 : 150,000/300,000, 50,000 ante

While the new level puts the blinds up, the length of each level now starts to move down. There are just 75 minutes for the next two levels, after which there will be two hour-long levels, then 45 minutes for two more. That may very well do it.

Hand #48 - #52: Uri Reichenstein To 30 Million

Niveau 34 : 150,000/300,000, 50,000 ante
Uri Reichenstein
Uri Reichenstein

Hand #48: Uri Reichenstein raised to 700,000 under the gun with {A-Spades}{10-Spades}, picking up the blinds and hands.

Hand #49: Uri Reichenstein got a walk in the big blind.

Hand #50: Sebastian Malec limped in on the button with {A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. Uri Reichenstein completed the small blind with {A-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Thomas de Rooij checked with {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds} in the big blind.

The flop was {J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, giving Reichenstein bottom pair. All players checked the flop. The turn was the {6-Spades}, improving Malec to a better pair. Once again, all players checked, as they did on the {7-Diamonds} river. Malec picked up the pot with a pair of sixes.

#Hand 51: Sebastian Malec limped in under the gun with {K-Spades}{J-Spades}. Uri Reichenstein raised to 900,000 on the button with {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, and Malec called. The flop {8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Clubs} gave Reichenstein top pair, and he took it down with a bet of 800,000.

#Hand 52: Uri Reichenstein raised under the gun and picked up the blinds and antes, moving him up to 30 million in chips.

Thomas de Rooij Eliminated In 4th Place (€535,100)

Niveau 34 : 150,000/300,000, 50,000 ante
Thomas De Rooij
Thomas De Rooij

Hand #53: Thomas de Rooij, down to his last three big blinds, shoved under the gun with {A-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Sebastian Malec called from the small blind with {K-Spades}{6-Hearts}, but Uri Reichenstein had different plans. With the optional {J-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, Reichenstein reraised to 3,300,000 and Malec quickly folded.

Due to Reichenstein's play, De Rooij was a 63% favourite to triple up. However, It wasn't meant to be for the Dutchman, as the board ran out {10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{5-Spades}. Reichenstein made a pair of threes to knock out De Rooij, ending the Dutchman's run in fourth place. De Rooij banked an astonishing €535,100 for his deep run in the EPT 13 Barcelona Main Event.

Adam Owen Eliminated in 3rd Place (€646,250)

Niveau 34 : 150,000/300,000, 50,000 ante
Adam Owen
Adam Owen

Hand #54: No sooner had Thomas De Rooij been busted did we lose another!

Sebastian Malec made the call with {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} from the button. So too did Uri Reichenstein in the small blind with {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Adam Owen moved all in from the big blind with {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades} for 5,600,000 and when Sebastian Malec moved all-in over the top, Reichenstein folded.

The flop of {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} saw Malec move to 76% favourite to win the hand, and the {8-Clubs} on the turn changed nothing. The river of {6-Diamonds} didn't either, and that sent Adam Owen out of the EPT Barcelona Main Event in 3rd place for €646,250. A spectacular weekend for the Brit, but he just misses out on the heads-up fun.
