Après une journée riche en ascenseurs émotionnels, Sebastian Malec transforme 27€ en 1 122 800€ en remportant le plus gros Main Event de l'histoire EPT ! Le Polonais succède à John Juanda, il est le dernier vainqueur de l'EPT Barcelona après un duel terminal dramatique contre Uri Reichenstein.
La journée avait débuté quelques heures plus tôt avec sept joueurs. Dernier du classement à l'entame du Jour 6, Harcharan Dogra va se faire grignoter avant de défendre une dernière fois avec 
. Le restaurateur espagnol va donk all-in pour 4 blindes sur un flop 
et le Néerlandais Thomas de Rooij va instantanément payer avec 
pour trouver un 
rivière. Dogra Dogra repart avec 230 950€ après avoir atteint la TD d'un tournoi à 1785 joueurs.
Quelques minutes plus tard, Andreas Chalkiadakis va tout mettre avec

L'Allemand Uri Reichenstein se charge ensuite du Turque Zorlu Er en ouvrant au bouton avec

. Le Turque va payer au tournant avant de check-call pour son tournoi à la rivière. Il rejoint le rail plus riche de 431,550€ pour sa 5e place.
Les survivants prennent alors une petite pause pour discuter d'un éventuel deal mais aucun arrangement n'est scellé. Thomas de Rooij s'incline au pied du podium après avoir perdu un gros pot contre Adam Owen. Cripplé, il se fait sortir par Reichenstein tout en encaissant 535 100€.
Mis en confiance, Adam Owen va partir à tapis de grosse blinde après une ouverture du bouton de Sebastian Malec payée par Reichenstein en petite blinde. Le Polonais et l'Allemand ont la même main, 
, mais c'est Malec qui fait tapis par dessus et fait folder Reichenstein. Owen est pris par la patrouille avec son 
et rien ne vient le sauver. Finaliste WSOP, Owen quitte la partie en 3e position avec 646 250€ dans les poches.
Avec 40% des jetons au début du HU, Sebastian Malec va livrer une furieuse bataille contre Uri Reichenstein. Les deux hommes vont échanger plusieurs fois le lead durant 5 heures et 131 mains. Uri Reichenstein a semblé contrôler l'affaire mais Malec s'est remis sur pied à plusieurs reprises trouvant un carré de quatre avant de finir sur une couleur trouvée au tournant. Une turn qui avait aussi donné la quinte à son adversaire !
Avant cela, le joueur polonais avait tenté deux hero-calls pour finir le tournoi... à chaque fois Reichenstein a montré les papiers. En mode robot, l'attitude de l'Allemand a contrasté avec celle de celui qui s'est proclamé comme un fan de l'European Poker Tour.
Malec n'avait que 9 ans quand l'EPT a débuté et il a fait le show. se parlant à lui même ou faisant un selfie avec un membre de son rail après avoir poussé son adversaire à tapis sur l'ultime rivière.
Les yeux mouillés Sebastian Malec a ensuite été emporté par son rail !

Malec limpe avec du bouton et Reichenstein checke avec

. Dans un pot de 2,2 millions, Malec relance à 3 millions tout en ne semblant pas concerné.
C'est payé par celui qui jouait une quarantaine de blindes à l'entame de cette 187e main de la finale. La turn 
est une carte qui rentre dans l'histoire de l'EPT. Malec a non seulement trouvé sa couleur, son adversaire a fait quinte. Malec mise alors 5 millions en dansant et Reichenstein paye, couvert.
Sur la rivière 
Malec envoie le couscous en quelques secondes. Le Polonais est alors à un call de son opposant de remporter le plus gros Main Event de l'EPT. 76e de l'édition précédente pour 15,600€, Malec lâche alors la question fatidique à Reichenstein : "je pense que je te couvre ? Tu n'as jamais rien eu dans cette main, jette tes cartes et laisse moi partir au toilettes".
Agité, Malec commence à marcher tout en disant qu'il doit y aller alors qu'il détient la flush. L'Allemand réfléchit tandis que le Polonais se dirige vers son rail et s'assoit là pour regarder son opposant. Un spectateur prend alors un selfie avec le passionné d'échecs... le moment choisi par Reichenstein pour payer pour son tournoi pour ses 30 blindes restantes !
Le rail du Polonais peut exulter et engloutir un champion en pleurs. Malec aura juste eu le temps d'échanger quelques mots et une poignée de main avec sa victime avant de débuter la cérémonie officielle du dernier EPT Barcelona de l'histoire.

Malec went deep in the tank, removing his sunglasses and switched back to his regular glasses. Once again, Malec spent minutes talking to himself, glossing over all the hands he could beat with a possible hero call.
After nearly four minutes of thought, he sloppily smashed his chips into the middle to call the bet. Reichenstein showed his two pair to take a big lead.
