Hand #149 - #153: Malec Acting Up

Niveau 36 : 250,000/500,000, 50,000 ante

Hand #149: Reichenstein got a walk.

Hand #150: Reichenstein raised with {A-Spades}{10-Hearts} and won the pot.

Hand #151: Malec limped with {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Reichenstein raised with {10-Spades}{9-Spades}. Malec immediately folded.

Hand #152: Reichenstein got a walk.

Hand #153: Malec raised to 1,100,000 with {6-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Reichenstein called {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. Malec flopped two pair on {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, Reichenstein checked, Malec bet 700,000, and Reichenstein check-raised his queen high to 2,600,000.

Once again, it was bad timing for Reichenstein to make a move, as Malec was sitting on a monster. Malec, who was standing up throughout the hand, danced around in his place as he counted out the chips.

Malec was thinking for so long that Reichenstein called the clock on him. When the countdown started, Malec three-bet to 5,900,000, and Reichenstein snap-folded.

Malec won't be winning the Oscar any time soon, but he did win this pot.

Hands #154 - #158: Malec Takes a Slim Lead

Niveau 36 : 250,000/500,000, 50,000 ante

Hand #154: Reichenstein raised to 1.25m on the button with {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and when Malec raised to 3m with {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts} , Reichenstein made the call. The flop of {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs} saw both players check. The turn of {A-Spades} saw Malec bet 5 million! Reichenstein got out of the way.

Hand #155: Reichenstein called with {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Malec checked with {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} . The flop came {3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Reichenstein checked. Malec bet and immediately took it away.

Hand #156: This time it was {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for Malec and he called Reichenstein's raise to around 1.6m. It was {10-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for Reichenstein, who on the flop {Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} , checked, as did Malec. The turn of {9-Hearts} saw Reichenstein make it 2.5m and Malec sensationally raised to 6 million chips! Reichenstein folded.

Hand #157: Malec called with {A-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Reichenstein his big blind to a flop of {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{J-Spades} which was checked twice. The turn of {9-Clubs} got two checks also, as did the {K-Clubs} river. Malec had the best hand and swept the pot.

Hand #158: Reichenstein held {A-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and raised to 1.25m. Malec called with {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and on the flop of {2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Spades} led for what looked like 2.6m. Reichenstein, who missed yet another flop, let it go.

Somehow, the two players are incredibly level with 106 big blinds in play. Malec has the slight edge but this dramatic finale could still go either way.

Hand #164: Reichenstein raised to 1,250,000 with {Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Malec quickly three-bet to 5,000,000 with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}. Reichenstein folded.

Hand #165 - Reichenstein flatted a raise with pocket queens, while Malec held six-five offsuit. The board brought two aces and a king and got checked down. Reichenstein won with his pair.

Hand #166 - Reichenstein raised and took it.

Hand #167 - Malec raised with {8-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Reichenstein defended {J-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. The flop was {Q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Malec bet 1,100,000. Reichenstein called.

The turn {6-Diamonds} gave Reichenstein a pair and he checked. Malec made a circle around his chips, then bet a hefty 5,000,000. Reichenstein contemplated for two minutes, then shoved all in for 18,650,000! Malec, having nothing to show for, quickly folded.

Hand #168 - Reichenstein raised to 1,400,000 with {Q-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Malec defended {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. Malec check-called a 1,300,000 bet from Reichenstein on the flop of {Q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}

The {2-Clubs} on the turn was a blank and Malec checked. Reichenstein, with his two pair, bet 2,700,000. Malec, with his overcard and gutshot, called the 2,700,000 on the turn as well.

The river {2-Diamonds} blanked for Malec, giving Reichenstein the winner. Malec checked, prompting a 6,800,000 valuebet from Reichenstein.

Malec went deep in the tank, removing his sunglasses and switched back to his regular glasses. Once again, Malec spent minutes talking to himself, glossing over all the hands he could beat with a possible hero call.

After nearly four minutes of thought, he sloppily smashed his chips into the middle to call the bet. Reichenstein showed his two pair to take a big lead.

Hands #169 - #175: Malec Bounces Back

Hand #169: Malec moved all in with {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}and Reichenstein had {J-}{5-} so quickly folded.

Hand #170: Reichenstein raised to 1.3m from the button with {J-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and took it down.

After a few raise-and-take exchanges,

Hand #175: {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for Malec on the button leads to a limp and Reichenstein checks with {Q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} to see a {9-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{K-Spades} flop. Reichenstein checked, Malec bet 600,000, and Reichenstein called. The turn of {5-Hearts} saw Malec make it 1.2m. Reichenstein called. The {9-Spades} river saw Malec move all in for 9.6m! Reichenstein had the biggest decision he'd been put to for some time to make and the German was clearly under a huge amount of pressure.

After Malec had twice tried to hero call the tournament over in his favour, would Uri Reichenstein be of the same mindset? He would! The call doubles up Malec and the Polish player now has 24 million chips.

Sebastian Malec is right back in this EPT Main Event!
