The 2016 EPT Barcelona Main Event got underway yesterday, and today is the second chance for players to start their journey to becoming an EPT champion with Day 1b. For the first time, play will start at 10:am local time. Early birds get the worm.
Yesterday 466 players started and 243 finished, with Dutch player [Removed:155] leading the way with 178,700. That is the benchmark for all those playing today to match or even better!
Last year's Main Event attracted 1,694 entrants, so there is still a fair way to go until that number is broken! John Juanda was last year's champion and took home €1,022,593 for his troubles.
The schedule is for eight 75-minute levels to be played today, with a 20-minute break after each two. There will be a 75-minute dinner break at the conclusion of Level 6 meaning play should conclude around 9.55 p.m. local time.
Late registration for this event is open until 11.45 a.m. on the morning of Day 2.
