Le Jour 4 du Main Event de l'EPT Barcelone s'est étalé sur 6 niveaux de 90 minutes et Jean-Jacques Zeitoun reste l'unique survivant tricolore. L'ancien régulier de l'Aviation Club de France, qui réalise sa meilleure performance sur un EPT, est assuré de repartir avec un minimum de 33 100€ alors qu'ils ne seront que 24 à reprendre samedi.
Plus gros contingent au départ du tournoi, la France a perdu 4 représentants lors du Jour 4. Avec un peu plus de 30 blindes à l'entame de la journée, Ivan Deyra pouvait encore nourri de gros espoirs. Value_Merguez s'incline finalement en 69e position pour un gain de 15 410€.
Jérôme Sgorrano, Michael Eiler, Ronny Kaiser, Bryn Kenney, Kent Lundmark et Georgios Zisimopoulos avaient sauté avant lui. Yannick Autaa les a rejoint dans le rail en sortant juste après Eugene Katchalov. Le tricolore termine 64e pour le même gain que Deyra.
Dans le Top 10 en début de journée, Marco Trijaud a lui vu son deep-run s'arrêter en 44e place pour un chèque de 17,920€. Trijaud a tenu plus longtemps que Jason Mercier, Mikhail Shalamov, Aku Joentausta, Brian Yoon, Christian Jeppsson ou le Libanais Nicolas Chouity.
La fin de journée a été fatale aussi à Jason Koon ou au Belge Didier Mazairac qui avait déjà fait 15e de l'EPT Deauville et s'incline contre Konstantin Puchkov. Byron Kaverman, un peu audacieux avec un 4-bet shove , et Sam Grafton ont eux sauté après la pause dîner, juste avant le redraw sur les trois dernières tables.
Damien Luis (en photo) a monté un gros tapis à un mi-journée mais il n'a pas réussi à emballer des jetons après avoir perdu contre à tapis préflop. Le chef d'entreprise rend finalement les armes à quelques encablures de la fin du Jour 4, 25e pour un gain de 33 300€.
Après la sortie du Français, les organisateurs décident de ne pas effectuer le redraw et d'arrêter la partie. Sebastian Malec reprendra donc le Jour 5 dans la position du maillot jaune. Un leader solide puisque le Polonais a amassé 5,6 millions de jetons alors que son plus proche poursuivant, l'Allemand Uri Reichenstein n'en possède que 3,8.
Le jeu reprend à midi heure locale et l'objectif sera d'obtenir les 8 derniers survivants de ce field record de 1785 entrants. Soutenu par sa femme et son fils, JJZ s'est probablement endormi en rêvant du premier prix de 1 122 800€ !

It folded to Damien Luis in the small blind who raises to 110,000. Alexandru Baron was in the big blind and three-bet to 300,000. Luis thought before four-betting to 650,000. The action was back on Baron who five-bet all in and Luis called.

In the very next hand, Damien Luis open shoved from the button for his remaining chips. Alexandru Baron called in the small blind and action was on Adam Owen in the big blind. He asked how much the all in was for and after a couple of minutes elected to fold. The cards were turned over, with Luis holding and Baron . Meanwhile, Owen had shot to his feet and was shaking his head.
"Sevens?" asked Baron as the board began to be dealt, "Ace-Queen?" It seemed like the focus was on what Owen folded more than what the board was going to run out.
The flop came , and although the on the turn meant that Luis was open-ended, the river was the meaning the Frenchman was eliminated.
