Pratyush Buddiga Hero-Calls to Chop Pot

Niveau 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Pratyush Buddiga - EPT 13 Barcelona €25,500 Single-Day High Roller Winner
Pratyush Buddiga - EPT 13 Barcelona €25,500 Single-Day High Roller Winner

Pratyush Buddiga raised from middle position and got two callers: Sebastian Malec on the button, and the player in the big blind.

The flop came {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts} and it checked to Malec who bet 8,500. The big blind folded and Buddiga called. The turn was the {3-Spades} and Buddiga checked to Malec who surveyed Buddiga's stack, before betting 25,000. Again, Buddiga called.

The river was the {4-Spades} and Buddiga checked for a third time and Malec then announced all in, with his stack more than double Buddiga's. The €25,000 Single-Day High Roller finished at 3am, with Buddiga emerging as the overall winner after a deal, and Buddiga was willing to give this some thought.

After around five minutes of thought, Buddiga called and watched as Malec tabled {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. Buddiga hastily turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for the same hand and split the pot with his opponent.

"A good sweat, huh?" asked a tablemate. Buddiga could only muster up a smile in response.

Joel Nystedt Busts Murad Akhundov

Niveau 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Murad Akhundov in the €25,000 Single-Day High Roller
Murad Akhundov in the €25,000 Single-Day High Roller

The action started with a raise by Jonathan Pigeon to 6,500 and Murad Akhundov on the button, Adam Owen in the small blind and Joel Nystedt in the big blind called. On the {Q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop, the action checked to Akhundov and he moved all in. Owen folded, Nystedt asked for a count,

The all in was for 60,000 and the Swede then called, Pigeon folded and said in table chat he folded aces.

Akhundov: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Nystedt: {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

The {5-Clubs} turn left Akhundov drawing dead, and the {K-Spades} river was insignificant.

Janne "Savjz" Mikkonen Eliminated by Adam Owen

Niveau 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Janne Mikkonen
Janne Mikkonen

Adam Owen raised to 6,500 from middle position. The player in the cutoff called, as did professional Hearthstone player Janne "Savjz" Mikkonen on the button. The blinds both folded.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Owen bet 9,000. The cutoff folded, but Mikkonen called. The turn was the {k-Clubs} and Owen thought before announcing all in. Mikkonen called instantly and tabled {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a flush.

Owen winced, and turned over {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for two-pair, but with a flush draw that would eliminate his opponent if it hit.

The river was the {8-Clubs} and the table let out a murmur as Mikkonen got to his feet.

"Fish!" said tablemate Danny Tang, and Owen smiled in return.

"When he called instantly, I was thinking 'Please don't have a house!'" said Owen has he raked in his chips. He is now at around 200,000 in chips

Yann Pineau Is The Main Event Bubble Boy

Yann Pineau bubbles EPT 13 Barcelona €5,300 Main Event 2016

Yann Pineau opened in middle position, and Neculai Macovei three-bet to 18,500 on the button. Pineau called, followed by a check from both players on a flop of {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

On the {3-Diamonds} turn, Pineau led out with a bet of 22,000, which got called by Macovei. The river was the {5-Clubs} and Pineau checked. Macovei moved all in, putting the Frenchman on the bubble at risk for his tournament life.

Pineau, who had a little over 60,000 left, went deep in the tank. The camera's, players and media staff all swarmed around Table 4 to witness the situation unfold. Nearly five minutes passed by until Pineau finally decided on a call.

The hands remained closed, as the action on the other tables wasn't done yet. The buzz of an all-in-and-a-call situation circled throughout the room, drawing even more people to the table. After a few more minutes, a densely packed crowd finally saw the hand going to showdown.

Pineau showed {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a pair of tens, but his dreams of winning EPT Barcelona came to a screeching halt as Macovei tabled the unexpected {5-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for a full house. The Frenchman goes home empty-handed, the other 359 players are guaranteed at least €5,630.

Ivan Luca

Ivan Luca had an above-average stack for most of the day, but ultimately fell just before the end of Day 2. According to Jerome Sgorrano, he first tried to bluff the Belgian and then called a raise to 7,000 by Vojtech Ruzicka. Kestutis Gecevicius three-bet to 23,000 and Ruzicka folded.

Luca shoved for 55,000 and Gecevicius reluctantly called it off with {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. The Argentinian showed pocket aces and Gecevicius flopped top pair, turned two pair and rivered a full house.
