Stokkan Doubles

Niveau 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Felipe Ramos had Preben Stokkan at risk with {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} and his opponent from Norway one over card in the {A-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. Stokkan immediately paired up on the {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Spades} flop, but Ramos still had some outs as any jack or running spades would give him the better hand.

The {4-Diamonds} turn bricked, as did the {8-Diamonds} river, and the pot was shipped to Stokkan.

More Seat Open

Niveau 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Among those to bust recently were Mike Watson, Davidi Kitai, Mike McDonald and Salman Behbehani. For the latter, there was some reason to celebrate last night after picking up a trophy in a €5,000 Side Event for more than €92,000.

Watson was left very short after losing a flip with ace-queen versus jacks to Alexander Timokhin and busted straight after.

Working on the Table Image

Niveau 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

In the very last hand of the previous level, Adrian Mateos raised to 4,500 and Zvi Stern min-clicked to 7,900 from one seat over. The action folded to Quan Zhou in the big blind and he four-bet to 26,500. Mateos quickly folded, Stern asked for the stack size of his opponent and eventually folded.

Zhou showed {Q-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Stern grinned back. The November Niner is up to 400,000 chips and Enrico Coppola has about as much one table over. The Italian called a bet worth 5,200 by Javier Zarco on the {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} turn before check-folding the {5-Hearts} river to another bet of 12,500.

Ventura's Short Stack Adventure

Niveau 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Short Stacked Peruvian Diego Ventura got it all in with the {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}.

Christopher Frank had a pair of first names, but no pair, calling with the {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and doubling up Diego on a {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} board.

Farrell Slides; Coppola Leads

Niveau 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Enrico Coppola
Enrico Coppola

After Anthony Zinno limped, start-of-day chip leader Niall Farrell made it 14,500.

Jason Wheeler wasted little time moving all in behind for around 80,000 and both players folded.

A tough start for Farrell now sees him fall from the top spot on the chip counts with Enrico Coppola taking over, sitting on 360,000 a few tables over.

Two Dozen Down the Drain

Niveau 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Peter Akery qualified through a Live Satellite but failed to transform it into a cash in the tournament. He is joined on the rail by Adnan Chamaa, Tobias Reinkemeier, €50,000 Single-Day Super High Roller fourth place finisher Murad Akhundov, Timofey Kuznetsov and Andrei Konopelko.

Pateychuk Loses Raising War

Niveau 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

One of the new players that doesn't have an ID showing made it 9,100 to go out of the small blind and Andrey Pateychuk then reraised to 22,500 out of the big blind. The small blind squeezed to 37,700 and was called by the Russian. After a ten-high flop, the Russian faced a bet worth 27,700 and let go to drop some of his big stack.

Tremzin Busts to Heath

Niveau 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Gleb Tremzin bought into the tournament before the start of Day 2, but only lasted about half an hour. He got it in with {4-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Ben Heath looked him up with the {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} to see the board run out blank {10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{J-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

Another Russian has also been sent to the rail in Aleksei Platonov.

The Big Names Fall Early

Niveau 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Among the next casualties were Igor Kurganov, Daniel Cates, John Juanda, Emil Patel and Liv Boeree.

The final numbers are still to be verified, but it looks as if there were at least 230 entries in the event.
