Oleksii Khoroshenin opened with a raise to 23,000 from middle position. Ole Schemion called from the cutoff, which brought the action to Patrick Leonard on the button. The Brit tanked for two minutes, before committing his remaining stack of 89,000.
Khoroshenin wasted no time in putting in a call, which gave Schemion some pause. The German juggernaut seized up his Ukranian opponent, eventually settling on a call as well.
The board ran out , with both active players checking it down.
Oleksii Khoroshenin:
Ole Schemion:
Patrick Leonard:
Neither player had improved their holding, which gave Khoroshenin the winner with ace-jack high. Leonard received €60,500 for his eight place finish.
Ramin Hajiyev raised for the second hand in a row, this time making it 22,000 from first position. Action folded to Adrian Mateos in middle position and he moved in for 164,000. His neighbor Mikita Badziakouski asked for a count but folded. It folded back to Hajiyev and he instantly called.
Ramin Hajiyev:
Adrian Mateos:
"I folded an ace" Badziakouski said.
"Some information is being shared here guys" Yan replied with a smile.
The board ran out and Mateos said his goodbyes, banking €46,180.
The tournament is down to 8 players now, all of them are guaranteed €60,500.
Oleksii Khoroshenin limped in from the small blind. Allan Sannier raised to 19,000 in the big blind and Khoroshenin peeled a flop.
The flop was and Khoroshenin checked. Sannier bet 16,000, Khoroshenin put in a big check-raise to 57,000, Sannier shoved for 180,000 and Khoroshenin instantly called to put Sannier at risk.
Allan Sannier:
Oleksii Khoroshenin:
Sannier had flopped two pair, but found himself in dire straits as Khoroshenin had flopped a bigger two pair. Sannier needed an eight or running chop cards to survive. It wasn't meant to be for the qualifier, as the on the turn and on the river sealed his fate.
Sannier got into the Super High Roller by finishing second in last night's satellite for this tournament. Although, not exactly, as the tournament only had one seat for the winner. Sannier got paid €22,750 in cash for finishing second, almost worth a seat, but still a cash prize. Instead of cashing out, Sannier elected to pony up the rest of the money and buy himself into the tournament. Unfortunately, his exciting run ended on the bubble, leaving him empty handed for the journey.
The nine remaining finalists are guaranteed at least €46,180 each.
From the cutoff, Max Silver raised to 18,000. Oleksii Khoroshenin on the button called and small blind Allan Sannier squeezed to 56,000.
Adrian Mateos folded his big blind and action was back on Silver. The Englishman four-bet to 56,000 and Khoroshenin quickly released his cards into the muck. Sannier shoved just as fast and Silver, while not over enthusiastic, called for 265,000 total.
Allan Sannier:
Max Silver:
Despite the French rail asking for an ace, the board came and Silver doubled.
Allan Sannier was standing on the rail talking to two of his friends and missed his big blind. With some death money in the pot, Adrian Mateos was first to act and raised to 14,000. His neighbor Davidi Kitai shoved all in for 87,500 and action folded back to Mateos. The Spanish EPT champion called. The cards remained closed till the hand at the other table was done.
"I have it." Kitai said, followed by: "I don't want to see 5-6 suited"
As the hand on the other table was done, it was time for the showdown:
Davidi Kitai:
Adrian Mateos:
Kitai's partner ran to the table and started rooting for him: "As! As! As!" ("Ace! Ace! Ace!")
The flop came and the turn was the .
"Deux! Deux! Deux!" ("Two! Two! Two!") said Kitai's partner.
The hit and Kitai doubled up. Besides 87,500 in chips times two plus the blinds and antes, he received a peck on the cheek.
Action folded to Allan Sannier on the button and the Frenchman opened for 15,000. Adrian Mateos folded his small blind and big blind Philipp Gruissem three-bet to 44,000. Sannier asked how much Gruissem had behind (121,000) and announced all in. Gruissem slid his stack forward in one swift move.
Allan Sannier:
Philipp Gruissem:
Gruissem was the clear favorite to double up but the odds were evened after the flop came .
"Oh my god!" Silver said.
The on the turn was one of the cards Gruissem needed to dodge and so he was down to just a couple of outs to survive. He still had a 9 percent chance of doubling up but the on the river wasn't one of the cards he was looking for. While he rivered a set it was Sannier making a flush and Gruissem departed in 11th place.
It's bubble time now and action is hand for hand. The player that goes out now will go home empty-handed, surviving the bubble will net the 9 remaining players a minimum of €46,180.
Action folded to Adrian Mateos on the button and he moved in. There was no small blind since Dario Sammartino had just been eliminated and so the decision was on big blind Morten Mortensen. Mortensen had 21,500 and, after thinking about it for just a bit, said "Ok, let's go!"
Adrian Mateos:
Morten Mortensen:
"Ok..." Mortensen said after the -flop.
"Ok!" Mortensen accepted his fate after the hit the turn.
The completed the board and Mortensen made his exit. "Have fun guys" he said as he made his way to the rail.
The action was folded around to Adrian Mateos in the small blind. The Spaniard raised to 10,000 and Dario Sammartino opted to defend his big blind.
The flop was and Mateos threw in another 10,000. Sammartino called and the landed on the turn.
Mateos gave it some thought before moving all in, which was for 49,500 effectively. Sammartino had to make a decision for all of his chips and took his time.
After three minutes the clock was called on the Italian and he had one minute to act. With 30 seconds left he made the call showing for king-high and a straight draw.
Mateos tabled and was in excellent shape to bust his opponent. The river wasn't one of Sammartino's outs to chop and he was sent to the rail.
Action folded to Ramin Hajiyev on the button and he asked to see Frederik Jensen's (big blind) stack. He then raised to 9,000 and the small blind folded. Jensen didn't hesitate too long after checking his cards, he moved all in for 74,100. Hajiyev asked for a count and called upon finding out it was just under 19 big blinds.
