Fontanel Doubles Melis; Busts Timofeev

Niveau 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Denis Timofeev
Denis Timofeev

Luca Fontanel jammed into the big blind of Mario Melis, who snap-called and tabled the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}. Fontanel was caught with the fingers in the cookie jar, holding the {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, and had to fork over 177,000 to his table neighbor on a board of {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}.

Soon after, Fontanel got those chips and more back when he sent Denis Timofeev to the rail.

Denis Timofeev: {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Luca Fontanel: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The board came {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and that spelled the end for Timofeev.

Chen and Naicker Hit the Rail

Niveau 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Emrah Cakmak
Emrah Cakmak

South Africa's Patmaseelan Naicker had around 110,000 left and, having first-in vigorish, shoved all of those on the button. Emrah Cakmak immediately came over the top from the small blind holding {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}, while Naicker was out-kicked with {a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. There was no help for Naikcer on {j-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and he hit the rail.

Dutchman Zhong Chen followed him closely after. While Chen had a sizable stack earlier in the day, he was down to his final 130,000 and shoved those in. Once again, it was a left-hand neighbor going for the knockout.

Zhong Chen: {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Vladyslav Pohribnyi: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

The board ran out {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{8-Spades}{a-Hearts}{2-Spades} to quicky decide things and Chen went off to collect €3,200 in prize money.

Break With 63 Remaining

Niveau 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Four levels and 12 minutes have been played on Day 2 and the field of 214 survivors has been cut down to the last 63 hopefuls. They have just headed into their next 20-minute break and the next break will provide enough time to grab some dinner.

Mooney Busts; Balogh Doubles

Niveau 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

John Mooney had been sticking around with a severe short stack for quite some time and his grind just came to an end with {q-Spades}{9-Hearts} against the {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs} of Shahar Levi. The board came {8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and king-high was good enough to send Mooney to the rail.

Tamas Balogh was more fortunate when he got his 165,000 in with {a-Spades}{2-Spades}. Thierry Giron was way ahead preflop with {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}, but the {j-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{a-Diamonds} board gave Balogh a full house.
