There was a three-way pot at Table 25 between Marco Markovic, John Mooney and Frank Stumpf with action being picked up on the flop of .
Markovic and Mooney both checked on the flop and Stumpf fired for 2,100. Both opponents called. Markovic and Mooney checked again on the turn and Stumpf sized up to 4,200. Only Markovic called.
Markovic checked a third time on the river and Stumpf checked back. Markovic showed for top pair, but he found himself outkicked by the of his German opponent.
"Same hand," Mooney told Markovic about what he folded on the turn.
Peder Oeyre was in position in a heads-up pot against 2009 EPT Copenhagen runner-up Peter Hedlund on a flop of . Hedlund checked on the flop and Oeyre bet 200. Hedlund called.
Hedlund checked again on the turn and Oeyre sized up to 700. Hedlund again called. The river brought the and Hedlund checked as he stared down his opponent. Oeyre glanced at his cards and then bet 2,500.
Hedlund put out 1,500 for a call, not realizing that it was 1,000 more to call, and then mucked when Oeyre tabled for a full house.
"I wouldn't have called 2.5k," Hedlund said. "I should have raised and gotten the info and folded."
He then followed up after second thought: "I prolly would've called 2.5k anyway."
The 2022 PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague kicked off yesterday at Hilton Prague and continues today with the first two starting flights of the €1,100 Eureka Main Event. Day 1a will commence at noon local time while Day 1b will later play out at 6 p.m.
The four-day event at the luxurious Eastern Europe casino will see players starting with a stack of 30,000 and blinds of 100/100/100 with levels lasting 40 minutes in duration, though levels will increase to 60 minutes beginning with Level 17.
The tournament has 25-minute breaks scheduled every three levels and there will be a 75-minute dinner break after Level 10. All flights will play until 15% of the field remains and all players will be in the money on Day 2 on Dec. 10.
Earlier this year, it was none other than PokerStars ambassador Alejandro Lococo who took down the €1,100 Eureka Main Event for €417,820. That event drew 3,155 entrants and generated a prize pool of €3,028,800.
