Hysaj Finds a Double After an Accidental Raise

Niveau 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Eljano Hysaj opened to 1,600 from under the gun and action folded to Konstantinos Attitis in middle position, who announced "raise" before putting out 1,600.

There was no big blind posted and Attitis explained that he had thought Hysaj had been the big blind and didn't mean to three-bet. The floor ruled that Attitis had to raise to 3,600 since he had verbally announced a raise.

After the floor clarified the situation, Gerard Berthaut flat-called from the hijack before Hysaj four-bet jammed his stack of 25,500. Attitis quickly folded and Berthaut mulled over a decision before calling with a bigger stack.

Eljano Hysaj: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Gerard Berthaut: {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

"What does he have?" Hysaj asked as he squinted across the table to see he was ahead before the board ran out {k-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{q-Clubs}{k-Hearts} to earn him a double.

"Thank you," Hysaj told his opponent coldly as he raked in the pot.

Panades Makes the Right Call But Isn't Rewarded

Niveau 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Victor Panades raised from late position and Gonzalo Ranero three-bet jammed from the big blind with a bigger stack. Panades gave it some thought and called.

Victor Panades: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Gonzalo Ranero: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Panades was far ahead with a bigger pair and tablemate Peter Hedlund gave him a fist bump before the flop landed {5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} to give his opponent a big lead with a set. Ranero improved to a full house as the board finished out {9-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and Panades hit the rail as his Swedish friend tried to console him.

"It was a great call!" Hedlund remarked.
