Royal Flush Runout Leaves Table 26 Stunned

Table 26
Table 26

While the screams in the main tournament area earlier in the day were due to Croatia's victory over Brazil in the World Cup quarter-finals, the raucous cries heard just now were the result of something different that everyone at the table agreed they had never witnessed.

Three players at Table 26 saw a flop of {q-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Spades} that checked through to the {a-Spades} turn to put four to a Royal Flush on the board. Stanislavs Macugins bet out and only Gal Halevi called.

To the astonishment of everyone at and around the table, the dealer managed to peel off the one and only {10-Spades} on the river to put a Royal Flush on the board.

"One in ten million!" one of the players gasped.

"Is there a bad beat jackpot?!" joked another.

Neither player attempted to get the other off the mega-nuts and the two chopped the pot with Macugins holding {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and Halevi holding {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Everyone at the table, including the dealer, said they had never seen such an improbable runout.

"Be sure to say I was at the table!" Oz Zitun told PokerNews.

Sidney Opoong limped in from under the gun, with Gab Yong Kim doing the same on his direct left.

Marc Perini followed suit in middle position before Antonios Loupasis jammed for 21,000 from the button.

Matthias Auer then moved all in for 22,000 from the big blind.

Opoong folded before Gab Yong Kim shipped in his big stack, which was enough to get Perini out of the way.

Action was caught on the {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop with around 40,000 in the pot.

Branislav Pindroch checked from early position before Mirand Murseli bet 17,500 from middle position. Norbert Szecsi then jammed for 30,500 from the hijack which sent Mike Neuens into the tank from the button. Neuens found the fold as did Pindroch but Murseli made the call.
