The inaugural 2023 PokerStars European Poker Tour Paris stop at the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile is in full swing. Some side event and the first two High Roller trophies have already been awarded while the festival is gearing up for the flagship EPT €5,300 Main Event.
Another tournament that has enjoyed a tremendous turnout was the France Poker Series (FPS) €1,100 Main Event, which drew a total of 2,071 runners and is down to the final 61 players. Many of those who took part are also expected to join the action in the respective FPS Paris €2,200 High Roller, which is already sold out prior to the start. Some 586 enthusiasts are listed so far but that is certainly not the final number for the tournament.
Over the next two days, a winner will be crowned, and the action is set to get underway at noon local time. All participants start with 30,000 in chips, and each level on Day 1 lasts 40 minutes each. A single reentry option is available until the start of Level 11, after which the registration period concludes at approximately 8.55 pm local time.
The first of two tournament days is scheduled to play down to the money with approximately 15% of the field earning a portion of the seven-figure prize pool. There will be a 20-minute break every two to three levels and a 75-minute dinner break upon completion of Level 10.
All players who still have chips at their disposal will have locked up a cash prize and return the following day at noon local time to determine a champion. Stay tuned for all the poker action from the French capital right here on PokerNews as the live reporting team is on the floor to provide exclusive updates from all marquee events.
Several players have already taken their seats but the tournament has not started yet, as the bulk of the field is still in the queue to enter the fray.
