Chidwick Stays Alive With Double Up Through Hissou

Niveau 8 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

Stephen Chidwick was all in for his last 98,000 in the small blind versus Sirzat Hissou in the big blind.

Stephen Chidwick: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Sirzat Hissou: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} bringing two pair to Hissou, but the only flush draw to Chidwick.

Chidwick's flush came in on the turn with the {4-Diamonds}, and after the {2-Clubs} on the river failed to fill up Hissou, Chidwick had earned himself a double-up.

Greenwood Barely Covers Hall

Niveau 8 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Pedro Marques opened to 11,000 from under the gun and was called by Timothy Adams on his left. Sam Greenwood three-bet to 38,000 on the button and Galen Hall four-bet shoved all in for 241,000 in the big blind. Marques and Adams quickly folded while Greenwood called just as fast.

Galen Hall: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Sam Greenwood: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Greenwood had the superior pocket pair and the board of {6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades} was no help to Hall who was sent to the rail.

Holz First Player to be Eliminated For Good After Cooler

Niveau 8 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

A huge pot of about 260,000 was in the middle of the table between Fedor Holz and Mikalai Vaskaboinikau with a completed board of {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{4-Clubs} beside it.

Holz moved all in for over 100,000 from the big blind and was called by Vaskaboinikau in the cutoff.

Holz showed {q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for a flopped king-high straight, however, Vaskaboinikau showed {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for the nut straight to broadway.

Holz has now been eliminated twice today, ending his run in the tournament for good.

Petrangelo Gets Lucky vs Hall

Niveau 8 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Nicholas Vincent Petrangelo
Nicholas Vincent Petrangelo

Galen Hall raised it up in early position and was called by Timothy Adams on the button and Gregoire Auzoux in the small blind. Nick Petrangelo three-bet to 43,000 in the big blind and Hall responded with a four-bet to 107,000. Adams and Auzoux folded and Petrangelo five-bet ripped all in for 235,000 which was met by a snap-call.

Nick Petrangelo: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Galen Hall: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

"I'm wrong," Petrangelo announced sheepishly turning over his hand. The flop of {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} gave Hall two pair but Petrangelo picked up a flush draw. The {7-Clubs} on the turn changed nothing but it was the {6-Diamonds} on the river that gave Petrangelo a flush.

"Sorry," Petrangelo mumbled as he raked in the double-up.

Vieira Cracks Volkmann's Kings

Niveau 8 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Joao Vieira and Bruno Volkmann were engaged in a three-bet pot with around 70,000 in the middle. The board read {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Vieira check-called a bet of 45,000 from Volkmann on the turn.

The river was the {5-Clubs} and Vieira checked again. Volkmann slid out a bet of 92,000, leaving just 1,000 behind. Vieira raised all in and Volkmann flicked in his last chip. Vieira tabled {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for trip queens which was enough to best the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} of Volkmann.

Heath Sends Ketzer to the Rail

Niveau 7 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Felipe Ketzer
Felipe Ketzer

Felipe Ketzer moved all in on the button for his last 68,000, then began to gather his belongings as he accepted playful "GGs" from his tablemates.

Ben Heath obliged him in the small blind with a call to put him at risk.

Felipe Ketzer: {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Ben Heath: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Ketzer's hearts were dominated by Heath, and after the {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{k-Spades}{a-Hearts}{3-Clubs} runout, it really was GG for Ketzer as Heath's pair of kings sent him to the rail.

Meanwhile, at an adjacent table, Jean-Noel Thorel was eliminated but has used his single reentry to return to play.

Marques Turns Kim to the Door

Brian Kim
Brian Kim

Pedro Marques and Brian Kim were heads-up in a three-bet pot and the dealer fanned the flop of {6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}. Marques checked in the cutoff and Kim threw in a bet on the button. Marques jammed all in for 208,000 and Kim instantly called off his stack of 204,000.

Brian Kim: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Pedro Marques: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

Marques was behind but had some outs with a straight draw. He didn't need that as the {7-Hearts} on the turn gave him a set of sevens. The {a-Spades} on the river bricked out and Kim was ousted late on Day 1.

Bedell Arrives and Takes Down a Pot

Niveau 7 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Tom-Aksel Bedell is the latest entry into the tournament and he got involved immediately in a hand with Bruno Volkmann.

A small pot had been built by the river on a completed board of {j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{q-Spades} and Bedell bet 17,000 from the big blind.

Volkmann called from the cutoff and Bedell said he had a very good hand as he showed {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for running trip queens.

Volkmann nodded and mucked his hand to send an early pot to the Norwegian.
