Mike Watson

Mike Watson opened to 7,500 in the hijack and Jean-Noel Thorel three-bet to 25,000 on the button. Watson called and they went heads-up to a flop of {6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Watson checked to Thorel who threw in a bet of 50,000 and Watson jammed all in for 173,500. Thorel quickly called and the cards were on their backs.

Mike Watson: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Jean-Noel Thorel: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

Watson was ahead for the moment but Thorel still had some outs to catch up. The {6-Clubs} on the turn and the {6-Diamonds} on the river gave both players a full house but Watson held the better of the two to double up.

PokerStars Apologizes for 'Subpar Experience' for Some at EPT Paris Festival

Niveau 6 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
EPT Paris
EPT Paris

After getting several complaints from players about the currently underway European Poker Tour (EPT) Paris festival, PokerStars issued a statement apologizing for "the subpar experience some of you have had at EPT Paris."

The festival is taking place at the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile, a venue that hasn't been the most popular among players due to its limited space, tight hallways, and registration process. Many were startled when they went to register for the record-breaking €1,100 FPS Paris Main Event only to learn that the event was at capacity and they'd be unable to do so.

In a statement issued on Feb. 18, Cedric Billot, Head of Live Events Global Operations for PokerStars, personally apologized for the issues experienced by players at the first-ever EPT stop in France, a country with its own unique gambling rules and restrictions. The statement also provided information for players looking to register for the EPT Main Event to ensure the smoothest experience possible.

After Nikita Kuznetsov opened to 7,000 under the gun, Teun Mulder three-bet to 37,000 from the big blind. Kuznetsov responded with a four-bet to 87,000 and Mulder called.
