Reiji Kono Eliminated on the Bubble

Niveau 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Reiji Kono
Reiji Kono

Just as hand-for-hand play was announced, Reiji Kono shoved for his remaining short stack from the cutoff and was called by Humberto Lopes Galindo in the big blind to put Kono at risk.

Reiji Kono: K3
Humberto Lopes Galindo: 104

Kono was a favorite to double up, but the 10QQ4Q runout improved Galindo to a full house — eliminating Kono just shy of the money and ending play for the day.

Groenendijk Busts Rona

Niveau 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Gergely Rona opened to 40,000 from middle position and action was folded to Julien Groenendijk in the big blind, who moved all in, putting Rona at risk if he made the call. After some thought, Rona put the rest of his chips in the middle, around 100,000 in total.

Gergely Rona: 88
Julien Groenendijk: AQ

Rona was ahead with a pair of eights in a race, but the AK2 flop left him drawing thin.

The K turn reignited some hope, with Rona now holding a flush draw, but the 4 river was a brick and sent him to the rail just before the conclusion of Day 1b.

Angelov Empties the Clip

Niveau 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Boris Angelov opened to 12,000 from middle position and was called by Nicolai Ejstrud in the cutoff.

Ejstrud called a 16,000 bet from Angelov on the 10JQ flop and a 42,000 bet from Angelov on the 4 turn.

The 3 completed the board and Angelov announced he was all in, which was enough to put Ejstrud all in for his last 130,000.

Ejstrud went deep into the tank, but eventually opted to lay his hand down and Angelov collected the pot without showing.

Dupre Gets Cold Four-Bet Through

Niveau 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Maria Lampropulos opened to 12,000 in early position, only to be faced with a three-bet to 40,000 from Marcello Miniucchi.

Julien Dupre was next to act, and after confirming the raise size and giving the matter some thought, he reached for chips and produced a cold four-bet all-in jam for around 200,000, leading to swift folds from both his opponents.

Arias Takes from Alt

Niveau 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Action was picked up on a flop of 8KJ where Gonzalo Arias bet 12,000 from the hijack. Dinesh Alt made the call on the button.

Arias fired the 10 for 40,000 and Alt called again. The river Q drew a check from Arias, and Alt tanked for a moment before checking back.

Arias showed AQ for the nut straight and Alt mucked his holding.

Rona Doubles Through Alt

Niveau 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Action folded to Dinesh Alt in the small blind, who moved all in, putting the short-stacked big blind Gergely Rona to the test with the bubble approaching. Rona made a quick call.

Gergely Rona: A5
Dinesh Alt: 83

Rona was ahead and the 76J22 runout did not alter matters, giving Rona a timely double-up with ace-high.
