Dimitrios Gkatzas Eliminated in 14th Place (€56,700)

Niveau 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Dimitrios Gkatzas
Dimitrios Gkatzas

Dimitrios Gkatzas opened from the cutoff with a raise to 285,000, leaving himself just 10,000 behind. In the small blind, Tjenno Eskes carefully considered his move before opting for a hefty re-raise to over 1,000,000. With the big blind out of the way, Gkatzas called, setting up a critical showdown.

Dimitrios Gkatzas: 77All in
Tjenno Eskes: K9

Gkatzas held the edge preflop with his pocket sevens, but the flop came 10JJ, giving Eskes multiple outs.

The 5 turn was no help, keeping Gkatzas ahead.

However, the river brought the Q, completing Eskes's straight and sending Gkatzas to the rail.

Sylwia Studniarz

Pedro Marques raised to 120,000 from under the gun with Sylwia Studniarz calling on the cutoff and Danut Chisu calling from the button.

Marques checked the flop of QK7 and Studniarz fired out a bet of 250,000. Only Chisu called.

The 7 dropped on the turn and both players checked to see the Q fall on the river. Studniarz thought for a few moments before she shoved for 765,000. Chisu snap-called.

Sylwia Studniarz: 55 All in
Danut Chisu: Q10

Studniarz was playing the board after her pair of fives had been counterfeited. Chisu had rivered a full house and the pot was pushed toward him, while Studniarz was sent to the rail.

Niveau 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Alexander Sokolovsky
Alexander Sokolovsky

Pedro Marques raised to 120,000 from early position and Alexander Sokolovsky three-bet jammed for 890,000 from the cutoff. After it folded back to Marques, he called to put Sokolovsky at risk.

Alexander Sokolovsky: KK All in
Pedro Marques: AK

Sokolovsky was in a great position to double-up if he could fade an ace or some hearts. The 73Q flop kept Sokolovsky ahead with his Cowboys. The 6 turn meant only an ace on the river would end his Main Event. A brutal A dropped on the river to give Marques the winner, and send Sokolovsky to the cashier's desk in twelfth place

Quads Redemption for Kapeller

Niveau 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Siegfried Kapeller
Siegfried Kapeller

After losing around 230,000 chips to Barak Oz in the previous hand, Siegfried Kapeller bounced back with style. Sitting under the gun, Kapeller opened to 120,000 and picked up calls from Oz in the small blind and Jaehyung Park in the big blind.

The flop brought JJJ, and all three players opted to check, keeping the pot controlled.

On the 7 turn, Park seized the initiative, leading out for 85,000. Kapeller was the only caller, and they went heads-up to the river.

The 6 appeared on the river, prompting another quick bet from Park, this time for 90,000. Kapeller took his time before raising to 210,000, leaving himself with about 490,000 behind. Park mulled over the decision, burning a time bank card before eventually making the call.

Kapeller revealed KJ for quad jacks, scooping the pot in dramatic fashion and signaling his comeback.

Umberto Ruggeri Eliminated in 11th Place (€81,600)

Niveau 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Umberto Ruggeri
Umberto Ruggeri

Jaehyung Park made it 160,000 from the hijack and Tjenno Eskes called on the button. Umberto Ruggeri had 650,000 in his stack in the small blind and instantly moved all in. When it got back to Park, he elected to fold, and Eskes dropped in the call, which put Ruggeri at risk.

Umberto Ruggeri: JJ All in
Tjenno Eskes: QJ

Ruggeri had found a premium at the right time, but needed to sweat a runout first before he could celebrate. A flop of 1086 kept his pocket jacks in the lead, but Eskes did add a gutshot to his outs list. One of those outs arrived on the 9 turn as Eskes improved to a straight, which meant Ruggeri was drawing to a chop. Only a queen could keep him alive, but the 2 river wasn't what he needed, and Ruggeri was out in eleventh.

Pedro Marques raised to 160,000 from the cutoff with K9 and Paul Runcan defended out of the big blind with 103.

The two players checked the 647 flop and the 9 dropped on the turn. Runcan led out for 310,000 and Marques called.

When the 2 dropped on the river Runcan overbet shoved for Marques' remaining 3,320,000. Marques went deep into the tank, pondering over the decision for quite some time. However, after burning through a few of his time bank cards, Marques opted to fold his hand and surrender the pot to Runcan.

Vidar Oie
Vidar Oie

Barak Oz opened the action with a raise to 160,000 from under the gun, and Vidar Oie called from the big blind, setting up a heads-up flop.

The board came down KJ7, and Oie checked to Oz, who followed up with a 125,000 continuation bet. Oie wasted no time, moving all in for around 800,000. Oz quickly called, sending the hand to a showdown.

Oie showed K8, holding top pair with kings, but Oz revealed KQ, holding the same pair with the better kicker.

The 3 on the turn and 9 on the river didn't change a thing, sealing the pot for Oz and sending Oie to the rail just short of the unofficial final table.
