Kenney Makes Two Pair

Niveau 10 : 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante

Although Bryn Kenney started off Day 2 on a high, things quickly turned sour when he ran a bluff that went wrong against Alexandru Papazian's rivered flush. Ever since, Kenney has been trying to claw his way back, hopefully avoiding another re-entry.

On a flop reading {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}, Benjamin Pollak led out from the big blind for 85,000 into a pot of around 140,000. Kenney made the call from the cutoff and the {a-Clubs} landed on the turn. Both players checked to the {q-Diamonds} on the river. Pollak made a large overbet of 330,000 and Kenney quickly called.

Pollak tabled {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a pair of eights and Kenney took down the pot with two pair, holding {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Kenney has now climbed back over the starting stack heading into the first break of the day.

Gruissem Jams the River

Niveau 10 : 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante

Philipp Gruissem raised to 55,000 from the hijack and Sean Winter defended his big blind. The flop fell {7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Winter checked to Gruissem who continued for 60,000. Winter made the call and the {8-Clubs} hit the turn.

Both players checked to the {9-Diamonds} on the river and Winter led out for 260,000. Gruissem sat in thought for a couple of minutes before pushing his entire stack into the middle. Winter quickly folded and Gruissem earned himself the pot.

Meanwhile, Kristen Bicknell has re-entered the field after busting her short stack early on in the day. Both Vicente Delgado and Pavel Plesuv have been eliminated but there are still two more levels of late registration.

Loeser Leaves Gruissem with Crumbs

Niveau 11 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Manig Loeser opened to 70,000 from the cutoff and Philipp Gruissem three-bet to 210,000 from the small blind. The flop came {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Gruissem led out for 150,000. Loeser made the call and the {5-Spades} fell on the turn.

Gruissem pushed all in and Loeser snapped him off. Gruissem turned over {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a flush draw but was only drawing to a chop when Loeser showed {a-Spades}{2-Spades} for a full house. The river was the {j-Diamonds} and once the chips were counted, Loeser got a full double up leaving Gruissem with less than two big blinds. He would go on to bust in the next hand is currently taking a break from the action before re-entering.

Cooler Central

Niveau 11 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Joao Simao opened to 60,000 from early position and the action folded around to Philippe D'Auteuil in the big blind. He raised to 730,000, leaving himself with just over 100,000 remaining. Simao thought for a couple minutes before pushing all in and D'Auteuil called.

Philippe D'Auteuil: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Joao Simao: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The flop came {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} giving Simao a full house but D'Auteuil had trip aces and still some outs. The turn was the {9-Spades} and the river brought the {9-Clubs}, giving D'Auteuil a bigger full house and the double up.
