Byron Kaverman
Byron Kaverman

Scott Seiver opened to 24,000 from early position and received calls from Byron Kaverman in the small blind and Adrian Mateos in the big.

The flop fanned out {7-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and after two checks in front of him, Seiver fired a bet of 30,000. Just Kaverman called.

The {a-Spades} landed on the turn and both players checked.

The board completed with the {8-Clubs} and Kaverman checked once more. Seiver bet 50,000 and Kaverman slid out a big raise worth 250,000.

Seiver went deep into the tank requiring six time bank chips before eventually making the call.

Kaverman tabled {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, rivering a gutshot straight and Seiver mucked.

Hart Takes Down a Big One

Niveau 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Kevin Hart
Kevin Hart

On the flop of a {3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} board, action checked to Jason Koon who slid out a small bet worth 10,000. [Removed:412] called and Kevin Hart came over the top with an all-in jam worth 73,000. Koon flatted and Kruk moved all-in as well for about 55,000.

Hart: {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Koon: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Kruk: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

Everyone had something with Kruk having the best of it with his aces. The {4-Spades} changed nothing but a {10-Diamonds} on the river gave Hart a flush sending Kruk to the rail and leaving Koon among the short-stacks.

Badziakouski Gets Kruk on the River

Niveau 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Mikita Badziakouski
Mikita Badziakouski

With about 45,000 in the middle and a board reading {7-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, [Removed:412] shoved from the hi-jack and after getting a count of 29,700, Mikita Badziakouski made the call putting Kruk at risk.

Kruk: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Badziakouski: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}

Only a nine or an eight would remove Kruk from the table and sure enough, the dealer patted the table and slid out the {8-Clubs} to give Badziakouski a straight and Kruk said goodbye.

Second Largest Buy-In of the 2018 PCA Kicks Off at Noon

With the $100,000 Super High Roller crowning a champion later today, the second largest buy-in event of the 2018 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) gets underway this afternoon at the Atlantis Resort on the beautiful Paradise Island.

The eighth event of the festival will play out over the next two days featuring a buy-in of $50,000.

In 2017, at the PokerStars Championship Bahamas, Bryn Kenney bested a field of 69 total entries defeating Mustapha Kanit heads-up to claim the title and a top prize of $969,075. Both Kenney and Kanit are back in the Bahamas one year later.

Kanit is free to play today falling short of the money during play last night in the Super High Roller. Kenney on the other hand still remains and is in the money battling with just seven players left.

One of the biggest stories going into play today is poker’s top two all-time leading money earners battling for the top spot. Canadian poker legend Daniel Negreanu currently sits number one with $35,319,815 while American Erik Seidel boasts $33,277,776 in career live-recorded tournament earnings.

Negreanu will add a chunk to his lead later today when he returns for action at the Super High Roller final table. Sadly, Seidel fell as the “bubble boy” but can minimize the damage with a good run in this event.

The rest of the field is expected to be star-studded and should be quite a battle with all the players busting out of the Super High Roller eager to get back on the felt.

Players will start with 100,000 in tournament chips and be bound to a 30-second shot clock. Each level will last 30-minutes and Day 1 will play down to an official final table of six with the finalists returning on Tuesday at 1 PM local time and play down till the last card comes off the deck.

PokerNews will be here throughout the festival bringing you all the news and live updates. Follow @pokernews on Twitter for live updates and more. Also, follow PokerNews on Facebook and Instagram.
