Katz Eliminated by Negreanu

Niveau 2 : 500/1,000, 1,500 ante
Cary Katz (from Event #1)
Cary Katz (from Event #1)

Catching the action on the flop of {4-Spades}{3-Spades}{8-Clubs} with each player committing 10,500 preflop, Cord Garcia checked from the big blind, as did Cary Katz from under the gun.

Daniel Negreanu bet 20,000 from the button, and once Garcia folded, Katz announced a raise of pot to 93,500. Negreanu shoved for his 148,500, and Katz immediately called for his 138,500.

Katz: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Negreanu: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}

Katz was in the lead with his middle set, but Negreanu had outs to spades, a king, running straight cards, and other running full house cards.

The {9-Hearts} on the turn left Negreanu drawing to only a spade or a king, and when the river fell the {K-Hearts}, he would claim the checkmark and eliminate Katz.

Depa Busts Ladines in Sick Hand

Niveau 6 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Jonathan Depa
Jonathan Depa

Joshua Ladines was all in for around 155,000 in the small blind when we arrived, with {k-Hearts}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts} on the felt. Jonathan Depa had him at risk from the button with {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} but Ladines had the cooler with {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}

The turn, however, was the {9-Diamonds} and Depa hit quads. The {8-Hearts} river meant Ladines was busted on a sick beat, but he reentered immediately.

"That's Why It's Good to Start With a Pair"

Niveau 7 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Sam Soverel
Sam Soverel

Isaac Haxton raised on the button to 14,000 and called the shove of small blind Sam Soverel, who had 54,000.

Haxton: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Soverel: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}

"I'm ahead," Haxton declared. "I have a pair. That's how this works, right?"

It certainly did on the {9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop, but the {8-Spades} turn gave Haxton a bunch of cards to dodge. The {6-Hearts} river wasn't one of them.

"That's why it's good to start with a pair," Haxton said cheerfully.

Lehr Eliminated by Lamb

Keith Lehr
Keith Lehr

Ben Lamb raised to 8,000 under the gun before Keith Lehr three-bet him next to act in the cutoff to 30,000.

Action folded back to Lamb, and he called and then checked the {J-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{J-Spades} flop.

Lehr shoved all in for 68,000, and Lamb insta-called.

Lehr: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Lamb: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

Lamb had flopped a full house on Lehr's aces, and when the turn and river landed the {K-Clubs} and {5-Diamonds}, he would be eliminated by Lamb.

Tosoc Eliminated by Bonomo

Ryan Tosoc
Ryan Tosoc

Justin Bonomo raised his button to 28,000 before Ryan Tosoc re-raised pot to 85,000 from the small blind. Bonomo called, and then both players checked the {2-Hearts}{9-Spades}{Q-Clubs} flop.

The turn fell the {A-Clubs} and Tosoc pushed forward his entire stack; 253,000, and Bonomo called to put Tosoc at-risk.

Tosoc: {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Bonomo: {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

The river landed the {5-Diamonds}, and Tosoc was eliminated.

Adams Hits One-Outer on Bonomo to Double

Niveau 12 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Brandon Adams
Brandon Adams

From the button, Justin Bonomo raised to 28,000 and Jonathan Depa called in the small blind. Brandon Adams announced a re-raise of pot totaling 120,000 from the big blind.

Bonomo responded with a four-bet of pot and Depa quickly folded. Adams called all in for 360,000, and the cards were tabled.

Adams: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Bonomo: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

With Adams trailing, the dealer would prepare to deal the flop and the {J-Spades} would be the window card. The flop then filled out {J-Spades}{A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} to see both players flop a set and leave Adams drawing to just one out.

Fortunately for the Event #2 Champion, the turn fell the {J-Diamonds} to give Adams quads, and when the river fell the {5-Hearts}, he would through to over 750,000 in chips.

Yu Eliminates Negreanu

Niveau 13 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu opened on the button for 25,000 and called 85,000 from small blind Ben Yu. Yu continued for pot on the {j-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop and Negreanu shoved, but not for much more. Yu called.

Yu: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Negreanu: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}

The turn was the {j-Clubs}.

"That's a bad card," Negreanu observed. "That's the nail shut card."

Negreanu still had a bit of equity but the {8-Clubs} river didn't do it for him.
