Maurice Hawkins shipped all in for 4,775,000 with {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Isaac Haxton quickly called with {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. Haxton held a slight lead heading to the flop, looking to close this one out.

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} giving Haxton two pair and Hawkins a straight draw. The {k-Clubs} on the turn left Hawkins drawing to just four outs but the {q-Hearts} on the river was not one of them. Hawkins shook the hand of Haxton but will exit the tournament in second place.

Ryan Tosoc got the last of his 490,000 chips in the middle holding {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts} but was called by Isaac Haxton's {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. Haxton held a dominating lead heading to the flop, looking to make this a heads-up duel.

The flop came {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and both players had a straight draw. The {8-Hearts} on the turn and the {7-Spades} on the river bricked off and Haxton's ace-jack high was good enough to eliminate Tosoc in third place.

Andrew Robl was still left with under 1,000,000 chips and he pushed all in holding {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. Ryan Tosoc also shipped all in over the top with {q-Clubs}{j-Spades} and the two players tabled their cards with the action complete.

The flop fell {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{10-Hearts} giving Tosoc trip queens. Robl was drawing extremely slim and the {j-Diamonds} on the turn ended things. Tosoc improved to a full house and Robl was eliminated in fourth place.

Cary Katz limped in with {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} and Isaac Haxton was next to act on his left. Haxton shoved all in with {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and the action folded back to Katz who called for his last 845,000.

The flop came {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades} giving Katz the best hand with a pair of queens. However, the {a-Hearts} on the turn gave Haxton a pair of aces, putting Katz on the ropes. The river brought the {10-Spades} and Katz was unable to improve, heading home in fifth place.

Dominik Nitsche open-shipped all in for 1,440,000 holding {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and Isaac Haxton re-shoved all in with a smaller pair of {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Andrew Robl rank folded {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, leaving Haxton with just one out heading to the flop.

The dealer spread the flop of {q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and Nitsche was still in the lead with his pair of jacks. The {9-Diamonds} on the turn gave Haxton an open-ended straight draw and the {6-Clubs} on the river completed that straight for him. Nitsche, who came into the final table as the chipleader, was the first player to hit the rail in sixth place.

It was a new event introduced into the 2018 Poker Masters competition, and the turnout proved to be worthy of the innovation. The final table for Event #4: $10,000 Short Deck Poker has been set and many familiar names will be ready to battle it out in one of the newest variations of poker.

Dominik Nitsche (4,980,000) and Andrew Robl (4,865,000) will lead the final six players when the action gets underway inside the PokerGO Studio at the Aria Resort and Casino. Nitsche overtook Robl for the lead in the latter stages of Day 1 in what was an action-packed day with plenty of all-ins. While Nitsche holds a slight chip lead and would likely be favored in a standard Texas Hold'em event, Robl appears to have the experience and the edge in the Short Deck format.
