Paul Holds Firm

Niveau 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Aaron Paul bet 2,600 from the small blind with the board reading {a-Spades}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades} and an opponent in the big blind made it 8,000 to go. Paul called, and both players checked the {4-Diamonds}. Paul turned over {a-}{k-} and dragged the pot when his opponent mucked.

"You call the river?" the big blind asked.

"It'd be tough," Paul said.

Kade Gets Paid

Niveau 6 : 250/500, 75 ante
Vanessa Kade
Vanessa Kade

Team ShareMyPair Pro, Vanessa Kade, raised to 1,200 from under the gun and the hijack three-bet to 3,000.

Action folded back around to Kade who four-bet to 7,000. Her opponent called.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Kade checked. The hijack checked back.

The turn was the {6-Hearts}. Kade led out for 10,000 and her opponent called.

The river was the {2-Clubs}. Kade had just shy of 15,000 chips remaining and she piled them in the middle. Her opponent called.

Kade tabled {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} for top set, while her opponent showed {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for a pair of aces with an ace kicker.

After a rocky start to the day, Kade has more than double the starting stack.

Selbst Busts Miller

Niveau 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Vanessa Selbst was facing a bet of 3,000 from David Miller on a board of {7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} when we got to her table. The Team PokerStars Pro fired in a raise to 7,500, only to see Miller snap-jam it in for 13,125 more.

"You must have aces," Selbst mused. "Go all in that fast..."

In the end, she decided to call with {k-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and was in great shape against {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}. The board ran out {2-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and Selbst scooped the pot.

Eights Not So Great for Anthony Bellino

Niveau 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Anthony Bellino moved all in under the gun for 5,775 and Fabio Carlos Pereira called him from middle position. The rest of the players folded and it was off to the races.

Pereira: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Bellino: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

Bellino was looking to hold, but that proved easier said than done as the board ran out {6-Clubs}{a-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{j-Clubs} to give the best hand to Pereira, who chipped up to 48,000.

Maria Ho Brings the Pain

Niveau 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

We walked over to one of the outer tables and saw Maria Ho fire out a bet of 7,500 from the big blind. Her opponent was Luc Greenwood in middle position.

The board was {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, with about 8,000 in the pot already. Greenwood appeared to be still for a moment and then began to cut out chips. It remained clear he was not going to raise and his two decided options were likely to call or fold.

After several moments, Greenwood put the chips back into his stack. He looked back at his cards several times. He looked over at Ho who was still and staring at the board, waiting for Greenwood to make a decision. Greenwood began shifting in his seat and putting his head in his hands, clearly looking like he was in agony over the decision.

Eventually, Greenwood grabbed a single green chip, worth T25, and almost tossed it in the middle to call. He put the chip back in his stack and looked like he was going to fold. He pulled the cards back, but then eventually released his hand.

Ho didn't show her hand, but it was clear Greenwood wasn't sure if he was behind or not.

Lauren Monosson Shows Cada the Nuts

Niveau 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

On a {7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop, 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Joe Cada bet 3,200 from the small blind and Lauren Monosson called from middle position.

The {K-Spades} turn saw Cada bet again, this time 7,100, and Monosson popped it to 15,000. Cada thought for a bit and then laid down his hand.

"Want to see?" asked Monosson. Cada said he did and she obliged by showing the {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} for a straight.

Bernard Lee Sends Asher Conniff to the Rail

Niveau 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

We missed the elimination of Asher Conniff at the end of last level, but we recently learned some details we thought are worth sharing.

After a player in early position raised to 1,100 and another player called, Bernard Lee three-bet to 4,025 from the hijack. Asher Conniff then four-bet all in for 24,000 from the button, the blinds folded, and the other two players in the hand got out of the way before Lee called.

Lee: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Conniff: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

It was a flip, but not after the flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts} to give Lee a set. The {9-Diamonds} turn left Conniff drawing dead, and he headed for the exit after the {7-Spades} was run out on the river.

Allan Barnes Fails to Connect

Niveau 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

After a player in middle position limped and Martin Klaar three-bet to 1,500, Allan Barnes four-bet all in for 4,625 from the button. Both blinds folded, the limper got out of the way, and Klaar put in the additional 3,125 chips.

Klaar: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Barnes: {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Barnes needed to connect to stay alive, but that proved easier said than done as the board ran out a dry {8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. Klaar chipped up to 50,000 after the hand.
