Avec 112 entrées, le Single Day High Roller à 25.500€ l'entrée du PokerStars Championship Barcelona a été un peu moins massif que l'édition précédente mais le vainqueur Stephen Chidwick ne se plaint pas. L'Anglais aux 8,8 millions de dollars de gains a encaissé son plus gros gain en carrière et la plus grosse partie du prizepool de 2 744 000€ généré par les participants.
Habitué des scores à 300.000€, Chidwick a remporté 690 400€ en 14 heures de jeu. Bryn Kenney et Igor Yaroshevskyy complètent le podium d'un tournoi où l'on retrouvait Isaac Haxton et Adrian Mateos Diaz en finale.
Le premier des deux HR à 25 000€ l'entrée disputé sur une journée du festival a vu les joueurs se présenter dès l'entame du tournoi. Les joueurs disposaient de 100 000 jetons (100 blindes) sur des niveaux de 30 minutes, il ne fallait pas trainer en route...
Daniel Dvoress et Jean-Noel Thorel ont rapidement sauté. Ils ont été rejoint dans le rail par Benjamin Pollak, Igor Kurganov, Ben Tollerene ou encore Mustapha Kanit. A la bulle, sept joueurs étaient en difficulté et c'est finalement le tricolore Imad Derwiche qui s'incline à la pire place, éliminé par Mateos Diaz.
17 joueurs ont donc atteint les places payées et remporté un minimum de 43 080€. Koray Aldemir, Steffen Sontheimer, Stefan Schillhabel et Manig Loeser ont inscrit une nouvelle ligne à leur palmarès sans atteindre la finale tout comme Byron Kaverman et Erik Seidel (11e pour 56 250€). Sergi Reixach a atteint la dernière table mais pas la Table Finale officielle (9e).
Stephen Chidwick a ensuite éliminé Vladimir Troyanovskiy qui encaisse un peu plus de 91 000€. Yaroshevskyy a pris le relais pour éliminer Mateos Diaz puis Jan Eric Schwippert avant d'attraper Haxton en bluff pour capter 8 des 11 millions de jetons du tournoi !
Deuxième du classement, Stephen Chidwick a commencé à combler son retard en se chargeant de Quan Zhou. Largement en tête au début du plan à trois, Yaroshevskyy n'a plus gagné un coup. Il a fait doubler deux fois le futur vainqueur et une fois Kenney avant de se faire finalement sortir par Chidwick. Yaroshevskyy collecte tout de même 303,200€.
Avec 93 blindes en jeu au début du head's up et une belle avance, Chidwick n'a pas tremblé pour conclure avec les contre les à tapis préflop...

The board ran out and Chidwick doubled for 4,340,000 to leave Yaroshevskyy with just over one big blind.
The next hand, Yaroshevskyy moved all in for 195,000 and Chidwick called in the small blind, as did Bryn Kenney in the big blind. On the flop both players checked. Chidwick bet the turn for 120,000 and Kenney called before facing a bet of 700,000 on the river. Kenney folded and Chidwick rolled over for trips, while Yaroshevskyy went from hero to zero in half an hour to finish in third place for €303,200.

Everyone folded to Jan Eric Schwippert on the button and he shoved all in for what appeared to be 805,000. Big blind Igor Yaroshevskyy didn't hesitate a second and called.

Yaroshevskyy's nines held up and Schwippert was heading to the payout desk to collect €159,800. The remaining 5 players are guaranteed €202,500.

The flop left Troyanovskiy in desperate shape, while he picked up a gutshot with the turn. However, a blank river ended Troyanovskiy's run in 8th place and he takes home €91,940.
Isaac Haxton, with a total stack of 920,000 opened for 110,000 from middle position. Everyone folded to Sergi Reixach in the big blind and he pushed all in for about 180,000. Haxton called.
