Luke Graham With the Double Knockout

Niveau 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Action folded around to PokerStars qualifier, Martin Kus, and he limped in from the cutoff. Sergi Reixach was on the button and moved all in for his remaining 8,225 chips. Luke Graham was in the big blind and quickly called, as did Kus.

The flop came {j-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Graham led out for 9,000. Kus called.

The turn was the {k-Spades} and both players checked to the river, which was the {9-Spades}. Graham thought about it for a moment and eventually moved all in for 26,100. Kus called for less and Graham tabled {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for a full house, nines full of deuces. Kus stood up and flashed {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} for the nut flush, and Reixach tabled {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} for an inferior flush.

Graham had both players covered, sending them both to the rail in dramatic fashion.

Sammartino Doubles Through Greenwood

Niveau 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

Italy's Dario Sammartino raised to 1,000 from early position and Sam Greenwood called from the small blind. The player in the big came along and three players took a flop of {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}.

Greenwood checked, the big blind bet 1,700, and Sammartino called. Greenwood then sprung to life with a check-raise to 5,700, which was enough to get the big blind to fold. Sammartino wasn't so easy to push off though as he instead moved all in for 15,075. Greenwood called.

Greenwood: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Sammartino: {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Sammartino got it in with his flush draw, and he hit it on the {4-Hearts} turn. He didn't want to see another heart on the river, which would give Greenwood a bigger flush, and he didn't as the safe {Q-Clubs} peeled off. Ship the double to Sammartino.

Aldemir on Fumes

Niveau 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Koray Aldemir's been on fire with a number of big cashes in high roller events, but he has his work cut out for him if he wants to make any noise here in the PokerStars Championship Panama Main Event.

He just bluffed a large portion of his stack after check-calling 1,000 from Daniel Dvoress, who was in the cutoff on a flop of {3-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Check-check on the {3-Spades} and a {10-Clubs} fell. Aldemir came out betting with 4,000 and Dvoress thought briefly before flicking in a chip to call. Aldemir merely nodded and mucked, and Dvoress followed suit but took the pot.

Double Knock Out! Barbero and Colman Gone

Niveau 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Nacho Barbero
Nacho Barbero

Nacho Barbero opened the action with a raise to 1,000 from first position. He picked up no fewer than 4 callers and the flop came {6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}.

Small blind Dan Colman shoved for 7,725 and big blind Eduards Kudrjavcevs folded. Barbero asked for a count before he called. Swedish PokerStars qualifier Sebastian Hinderoth squeezed allin for a whole lot more and action was back on Barbero soon enough.

Barbero tanked for a bit before he eventually, reluctantly, called.

Dan Colman: {3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Nacho Barbero: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Sebastian Hinderoth: {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

The {Q-Spades} on the turn and {7-Diamonds} on the river were both blanks and both Colman and Barbero got up from the table to make their exit. We're not entirely sure, but it looks like Sebastian Hinderoth is the chip leader. Hinderoth has no recorded cashes on TheHendonmob.com, but that might just change here in Panama this week. He's off to a great start!

Lopez Eliminates Lopes

Niveau 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Gustavo Lopes raised to 1,000 from under the gun, and David Lopez Llacer three-bet to 3,000 from the hijack

Lopes wasted no time and moved all in for 11,000. Llacer checked his cards and called.

Llacer: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Lopes: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Lopes needed to catch an ace, well behind Llacer's queens.

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and Lopes hit the rail.

Zinno Mucks Fast

Niveau 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Anthony Zinno
Anthony Zinno

Anthony Zinno was under the gun and check-called when Ben Tollerene bet 4,500 on a {6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} board. Zinno checked the {q-Clubs} river as well, and Tollerene thought a couple of minutes then slid all but his last T1,000 chip in. Zinno mucked before the dealer could even begin counting the stack, which looked like about 9,500.

Ryan Riess Continues to Build

Niveau 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

We've seen 2013 WSOP champ Ryan Riess steadily chip up here on Day 1a, and one of the tools he's using to do it is the good old check-raise.

In a recent hand, the under-the-gun player opened for 1,000 and Russia's Roman Korenev called from the small blind. Riess came along from the big and then both blinds checked the {3-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop.

The original raiser continued for 1,700, Korenev called, and that is when Riess check-raised to 7,000. That did the trick as both his opponents folded.

Kudrjavcevs Survives Hinderoth

Niveau 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

In the last hand of Level 5, there was 3,000 in the pot and a flop of {7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{k-Spades} when Latvia's Eduards Kudrjavcevs got his last 7,500 all in against Sweden's Sebastian Hinderoth.

Hinderoth: {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Kudrjavcevs: {k-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

Kudrjavcevs was ahead with top pair, but Hinderoth was drawing to an open-ended straight draw. The {3-Diamonds} turn gave Kudrjavcevs two pair, and he scored the double when the {6-Hearts} blanked on the river.
