Benjamin Chalot Eliminated in 18th Place (€26,800)

Benjamin Chalot
Benjamin Chalot

Danny Tang was first to act and raised to 35,000. Big blind Benjamin Chalot called to see a flop heads up.

Chalot checked on {9-Spades}{K-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and saw Tang continuation bet for 29,000. Chalot check shoved for about 270,000 and Tang called.

Danny Tang: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Benjamin Chalot: {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Chalot picked up some extra outs with the {5-Diamonds} on the turn but the {K-Spades} on the river wasn't one of the cards he was looking for and he exited in 18th place. The remaining 17 players are guaranteed €30,500 from here on out.

Aido Doubles Through Kruk in Massive Pot

Niveau 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Sergio Aido
Sergio Aido

Action folded to Christopher Kruk on the button and he opened for 30,000. Big blind Sergio Aido three-bet to 125,000 and Kruk called.

Aido bet 95,000 on the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop, 215,000 on the {A-Clubs} turn, and (after using a time bank first) all in for 453,000 on the {Q-Spades} river.

Kruk wasted no time calling on the flop and turn but needed a time bank himself before eventually calling on the river with just a few seconds left.

Aido showed {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} for a full house, Kruk mucked {K-Clubs}{Q-}.

"Ooh La La!" Jean-Noel Thorel Eliminated in Monster Pot

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Jean-Noel Thorel
Jean-Noel Thorel

Kfir Ivgi opened for 25,000 and his neighbor Jean-Noel Thorel three-bet to 100,000. It folded back to Ivgi and he called to see a flop.

Ivgi checked on {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Thorel instantly shoved for 400,000 even.

Ivgi was dumbfounded, smiled, and asked for a count. When he heard how much it was, he started talking. He used a time bank card and reasoned through the hand.

"Maybe you have queens," Ivgi said.

"Maybe" Thorel answered.

"But then I still win," Ivgi continued. "Why so much? It makes no sense!" Ivgi said.

Thorel just laughed and repeated answering "Maybe" when Ivgi told him his thoughts.

After about 25 seconds, Ivgi just slammed a couple of green 25,000-chips in the middle.

Kfir Ivgi: {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Jean-Noel Thorel: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

Thorel was on the verge of scoring a huge double, the {5-Spades} on the turn was still good for him. The {K-Diamonds} on the river, though, wasn't and all he could mutter was "Ai! Ooh la la" as he made his way to the payout.

Unfortunately, we were just too late to catch all the details. David Peters told us the following:

Sam Greenwood opened under the gun and big blind Christopher Kruk defended. Kruk check-raised on {2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Spades} and Greenwood called. Kruk shoved on the {Q-Clubs} turn and Greenwood called.

Kruk showed {9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, Greenwood tabled {A-Spades}{J-Spades}. The river {9-Hearts} was good for Kruk, Greenwood eliminated.

Reixach Eliminates Riess

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Ryan Riess
Ryan Riess

Ryan Riess bet 45,000, leaving 1,000 behind. Sergi Reixach called on the button and the blinds mucked. Riess used his whole 30 seconds and checked, trying to drag down the pace as much as possible on the pay jump. The flop had come {k-Spades}{a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. Reixach set him in for the last 1,000 and Riess used to two time extensions and then called, seeing players all in at other tables.

Riess: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Reixach: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Reixach had outflopped him and the {8-Diamonds} turn and {q-Spades} river sealed Riess' fate as he missed the jump. Unfortunately for him, the other players at the table informed him, he actually had about 45 seconds left before his hand was dead, which he lamented afterward.

Rocco Palumbo Bubbles the €10,000 High Roller

Niveau 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Bubble Rocco Palumbo
Bubble Rocco Palumbo

Down to just 42,000 and the shortest in the game, Rocco Palumbo shoved all in under the gun. Hossein Ensan called from the hijack before Anthony Zinno in the cutoff over shoved for what appeared to be 163,000. Ensan folded.

Rocco Palumbo: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Anthony Zinno: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The {J-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{9-Spades} wasn't too good a news for Palumbo and the {9-Diamonds} on the turn sealed his faith. The river {4-Diamonds} was inconsequential and Palumbo wished the table good luck before making his exit.

With the departure of Palumbo, the tournament is now in the money. The remaining 39 players are guaranteed €17,000.
