Ferreira Eliminated

Niveau 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Rui Neves Ferreira was all in for 220,000 in the big blind with {k-Spades}{q-Spades} and Jason Wheeler had put him at risk from middle position with {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. The board was finishing out with {6-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{a-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, enabling Wheeler to dodge some outs on the turn to score the elimination.

From the sound of the chatter after the hand, it seemed like there had been a check-raise on the flop, possibly for all of the chips.

Moreira de Melo Punts Akenhead, Staszko to the Rail

Niveau 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
James Akenhead
James Akenhead

James Akenhead shoved all in for 116,000 in the hijack and Martin Staszko reshipped in the cutoff for 215,000. Fatima Moreira de Melo woke up with another jam on the button.

Akenhead: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Staszko: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Moreira de Melo: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Moreira de Melo had found a fantastic spot in another three-way all in. She got a sweat on the flop when her opponents flopped gutters but the {5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{10-Spades} board was ultimately safe for her.

Stavridis Doubles in Massive Pot

Niveau 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Paris Stavridis was first to act and raised to 18,000. Matas Cimbolas called from the hijack before Gabriele Lepore squized to 73,000 from the button. The blinds folded and Stavridis shoved all in for 241,000. Matas Cimbolas tanked for some time, inquired how much Lepore had behind (650,000, a massive stack) and eventually moved in.

"How much you playing?" Lepore instantly asked.

"I cover," is all Cimbolas answered.

Eventually, Lepore tossed his cards into the muck, claiming to fold {A-}{K-}.

Matas Cimbolas: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Paris Stavridis: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

The flop of {J-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} wasn't doing anything for anyone just yet, but the {Q-Diamonds} on the turn definitely did. Stavridis hit top set while Cimbolas picked up a flush draw.

The river {7-Clubs} was a blank and Stavridis doubled up.

"Where is the Barrel?"

Niveau 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Matas Cimbolas bet 86,000 from under the gun on a board of {j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Paul Michaelis called in the next seat and they saw a {6-Hearts} river. Cimbolas thought awhile and checked. Michaelis checked back and his {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} prevailed over {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

"Where is the barrel?" Michaelis wondered.

"Waking Up With Aces!"

Niveau 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Aleksandr Orlov
Aleksandr Orlov

Aleksandr Orlov was seated under the gun but wasn't doing much when the dealer was done pitching cards. Staring from behind reflective shades and with his AirPods in, people wondered if he was maybe just not paying attention.

The dealer eventually asked him to make a move, and that's when the table found out Orlov was asleep. He woke up with a start, glanced at his cards, and moved in for 80,000.

The table was in stitches and Dermot Blain, sitting right behind him, shrugged when he folded, later telling the table he had ace-jack.

"I hope I don't find ace-queen here," one player said, convinced Orlov must've had a big hand when he woke up and instantly shoved.

The action folded around and Orlov won the pot.

"Show it!" the players said.

Orlov showed the {A-Diamonds} while he raked in the pot and started stacking.

"Waking up with aces!" one player jokingly said.

Orlov was the big blind the next hand, we're unsure if he stayed awake for that one.

Unlucky Turn for Badziakouski

Niveau 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Three players were staring at a board of {q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Mikita Badzakouski bet 45,000 from the big blind. The cutoff called but the small blind, Dmitry Ponomarev made it 115,000. Both players called and the river was a {3-Clubs}. Ponomarev moved in for about 115,000 and Badziakouski called, seeing a heads-up showdown.

"I have a set," Badziakouski announced. Ponomarev had a better one: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} beat {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.
