Le Jour 3 du Main Event PokerStars Championship Sochi à 5300$ l'entrée a été fatal à 52 joueurs. Ils n'étaient plus que 82 en lice à l'entame de la journée pour 55 places payées.
Mikhail Soltanov, Dmitriy Motorov et Abraham Passet ont été les premières victimes de la journée. Ils ont été rejoint dans le rail par Konstantin Tolokno, Vladimir Demenkov, Vladimir Dobrovolskiy, Daniil Kiselev et l'Argentin Nacho Barbero, éliminé à deux places de l'argent sur un flip perdu contre le vainqueur du WPT Amsterdam, Daniel Daniyar Aubakirov. Roman Seleznev a fait la bulle sur la Table TV, éliminé avec 3 blindes et

25 joueurs ont ensuite rendu les armes en encaissant au moins le min-cash de 11 600€. Avant le Jour 4, Pavel Shirshikov est en tête d'un tournoi qui a rassemblé 387 joueurs. Avec 1,6 million de jetons, il devance largement son dauphin Daniyar qui dépasse à peine un stack à 7 chiffres. Vladimir Troyanovskiy complète le podium provisoire avec la moitié des jetons du chipleader de 30 ans, un joueur de cash-game qui ne compte que deux lignes Hendon Mob enregistrées en mars dernier à l'occasion du festival partypoker Million dont le Main Event a été remporté par Dmitry Chop.
Les deux membres du Team Pro PokerStars au départ du Jour 3 ont donc franchi l'obstacle de la bulle. Toujours dans le haut du classement, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier est en course pour le premier prix d'environ 520 000$ (environ 460 000€). Avec 763 000 jetons, le Français devance son coéquipier Chris Moneymaker (289 000).
Timur Bubnov (734,000), Alexander Lakhov (572,000), Seyed Ghavam (538,000), Dmitry Vitkind (430,000), Jonas Lauck (334,000), Dmitry Chop (300,000) et Mikhail Rudoy (197,000) ont aussi emballé des jetons à l'issue du Jour 3.
Aram Vartevanyan, le chipleader du Jour 1A Andrei Shkerin, Vahe Martirosyan, Maxim Lykov et Jörg Böhme ont sauté dans l'argent, tout comme Jason Wheeler (33e). Lykov a chuté avec contre chez le patron du tournoi, son compatriote Pavel Shirshikov qui s'est aussi chargé de l'Américain. Qualifié sur PokerStars, Böhme a lui rendu les armes contre ElkY.
Gaby Livshitz et Dmitry Nikitin ont rendu les armes lors des 5 dernières mains de la journée et ne reviendront donc pas à 11 heures, heure française, pour la reprise sur les blindes 4000-8000 (1000).
La journée devrait s'étaler sur 5 niveaux de 90 minutes, à moins que les deux dernières tables (16 joueurs) ne soient formées plus vite...

Dmitry Nikitin was moved to the feature table and got involved into a hand right away. Said Butba raised and Timur Bubnov in the hijack as well as Nikitin in the cutoff called.
On the 
flop, Butba continued for 17,000 and Bubnov called. Nikitin shoved for 136,000 and that forced out Butba, while Bubnov called.

In a battle of the blinds over on the feature table, Said Butba bet a flop of

Pavel Shirshikov opened to 13,000 from under-the-gun. Jason Wheeler three-bet to 46,000 on the button. Shirshikov four-bet to 118,000 and Wheeler went into the tank. Eventually making the call. The flop came
