Hanks Has a Decision to Make

Niveau 5 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On a flop of {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, Andrew Lichtenberger checked from the small blind to Brent Hanks in the cutoff. Hanks bet 6,000 into a pot of around 14,000 and Lichtenberger called.

The {4-Hearts} landed on the turn and Lichtenberger quickly checked. With the clock nearing 30-seconds, Hanks asked if the action was on him, and then quickly checked, citing that he didn't see Lichtenberger check.

The river brought the {a-Diamonds} and Lichtenberger tossed in a bet of 22,500. Hanks used up one of his time extensions before pushing all in. Lichtenberger instantly threw his cards away and Hanks explained himself after the hand.

"I really didn't see you check on the turn. And I really did have a decision to make on the river."

Bonomo check-raised to 14,000 and Riess peeked back at his cards before announcing all in for around 55,000. Bonomo quickly sent his cards to the muck and Riess picked up the pot.

Chidwick's Overpair Holds Up

Niveau 5 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

The board read {8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and there was already around 27,000 in the pot. Andrew Lichtenberger checked and Stephen Chidwick tossed in a bet of 20,000. Lichtenberger check-raised all in and Chidwick called off his last 104,500 chips.

Stephen Chidwick: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Andrew Lichtenberger: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Chidwick was out front with his overpair and would need to dodge an ace, king, or a club to secure the double up. The {7-Hearts} on the river paired the board and Chidwick doubled up, leaving Lichtenberger with around 10,000. He would go on to bust in the next couple of hands.

Just shortly after on the table next door, Adrain Mateos was seen exiting his seat for the third time today. With only two re-entries allowed, Mateos is done for the day.

Bonomo checked again Marchese bet 15,000 on a turn card that would appear to favor his hand. Bonomo wasn't worried though, as he check-raised to 48,000 and Marchese quickly mucked his hand.

Just a couple of minutes later, Marchese and Ryan Riess were both seen missing from their seats with the chips being pushed towards Bonomo.

Hutter Jams the River

Niveau 6 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

David Peters opened to 6,000 from the hijack and Barry Hutter re-raised to 21,000 from the big blind. Peters called and the flop came {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Both players checked and the {7-Hearts} landed on the turn.

Hutter splashed in a bet of 24,000 and Peters made the call. The {5-Diamonds} on the river didn't change the texture of the board and Hutter moved all in for 46,500. Peters went into the tank, using up one of his time extensions before finally releasing his hand.

Soverel Wins Monster Pot Prior to the Break

Niveau 6 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

In the last hand before another 10-minute break, Phil Hellmuth opened to 7,000 from under the gun. Justin Young three-bet to 18,000 from the cutoff and Sam Soverel called from the big blind. Hellmuth used up a time extension before dramatically folding.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Soverel checked to Young who continued for 10,000. Soverel check-raised to 27,000 and Young stuck around to see the {6-Hearts} on the turn. Soverel fired another 35,000 and Young called again.

The river landed the {7-Hearts} and Soverel announced a bet of 88,000. Young used up a time extension which sparked a reaction from Hellmuth. "Wow! Two time extensions on level six. And one of them from me."

Young continued to think about his decision and eventually found a call. Soverel tabled {a-Spades}{k-Spades} for top two pair and Young was unable to beat it.
