Ben Pollak Wins Event #6!
Ben Pollak Wins Event #6!

While every event prior to Event #5 was $10,000 it's time that the buy-ins for the series are upped. From this point forward, every buy-in will be at least $25,000. This first event at this price point will be Event #5: $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em. Last year, it was Benjamin Pollak who bested a star-studded final table to take down the first place prize of $416,500 topping a field of 49 entries. The final table of that event was a true show stopper with Jason Koon, Isaac Haxton and this year's current points leader Stephen Chidwick all making an appearance. Seven players were paid in that event with a mincash being worth $61,250.

Today's action is set to begin at 2 p.m. local time. Players will begin with 125,000 in chips and the event will have the same structure as the previous No-Limit Hold'em events. Blinds will be 30-minutes starting at 500/1,000 with a 1,000 ante. Players will have a break every three levels. Play on Day 1 will conclude when the six players remain. Day 2 of the event will kick off at 1 p.m. and all the action will be live streamed from that point.

The Leader has Fallen to Bonomo

Niveau 11 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Sean Winter
Sean Winter

The current 2019 USPO point leader Sean Winter moved all in for 99,000 from the cutoff and Justin Bonomo called from the big blind, players turned over their hands.

Justin Bonomo: {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Sean Winter: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The flop came down {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Winter was in good shape to secure a double up. A {3-Hearts} on the turn gave Bonomo a few more outs to take down Winter and the {a-Spades} on the river was one of them.

Just like that Bonomo did what everyone in the room except Winter was hoping for, knocking out the current point leader with a lucky ace on the river.

Weinand Takes a Bad Beat to Bust to Petrangelo

Niveau 14 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Daniel Weinand
Daniel Weinand

Cary Katz opened with a raise to 26,000 from under the gun and action folded to the small blind where Nick Petrangelo moved all in for roughly 700,000, covering both Katz and Daniel Weinand in the big blind. Weinand thought it over for a bit, then eventually called all in for right around 450,000. Katz got out of the way quickly.

"I like his hand," Katz said about Petrangelo before the hands were tabled.

Daniel Weinand: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Nick Petrangelo: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

It appears as if Katz had some sort of sixth sense because the flop came down {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}{3-Hearts} giving Petrangelo top pair. The turn was the {Q-Diamonds} and the river was the {6-Spades} and Weinand was unable to catch up. Petrangelo took down the pot and moved over a million chips while Weinand hit the rail.
