Mathieu Gomez Eliminated in 17th Place (57,000 MAD)

Niveau 26 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

It wasn't long until the first all-in of the day. Mathieu Gomez raised and faced a three-bet from chip leader Henrique Pinho. Gomez moved all in with {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}, but got a snap-call by Pinho holding {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

The flop came {2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{q-Clubs} giving Gomez a glimmer of hope. "One time," he said, but let out a curse word in French on the {a-Spades} turn which left him drawing dead. The river was the {5-Clubs} and Gomez was the first elimination on the final day.

Players Ready for Winamax SISMIX Final Day

Winamax SISMIX 2018
Winamax SISMIX 2018

The final 17 players will return to the Casino de Marrakech today with the intention of taking down the biggest-ever tournament field on African soil, and securing themselves a 1,000,000 MAD payday.

The SISMIX festival has been an incredible one both on and off the felt, and there are still stories left to be written on the final day, with two Winamax Team Pros - Adrian Mateos and Sylvain Loosli - well-placed as we get closer to a final table and then crowning a winner.

Yesterday saw the bubble burst and play reach 17 players with around 25 minutes left in the Level 26. They will play the rest of this out, before levels increase to 60 minutes in length.

Stay tuned to PokerNews.com for all the action throughout the day from the Es Saadi Resort Marrakech.
