Jour 1 terminé
After a relaxed start in the first level of the day, the poker room of the Casino de Marrakech quickly filled up for Day 1 of the 2017 PMU.fr WPT DeepStacks Marrakech MAD 13,200 (€1,200) Main Event. Until the end of the registration period after the dinner break, a field of 433 entries including 111 re-entries emerged to better the 396 entries of 2016 and create the largest WPTDeepStacks field outside of North America.
Fewer than half the field made it to the bagging and tagging at the end of level 11 though, as just 153 hopefuls remain in contention with MAD 20,000 High Roller 9th place finisher Ludovic Moryousef at the top of the counts. Several players were gunning for the overnight spotlight, but Moryousef's set-over-set clash in the third-last hand of the night vaulted the Frenchman to massive 375,000.
Other big stacks and notables through to Day 2 include Belmehel Dja Daouadji (321,500), Spain's Daniel (275,600), Michel Leibgorin (261,000), Emile Carette (253,000), BAUTIST (228,000), Jean Koja (210,800), Tsunamy (188,500), Fadhil Farag (117,000), Fouad Zouiten (110,000), Alexandre Reard (99,500), [Removed:146] (85,000), 2016 November Niner Fernando Pons (77,000) and Aurelie Reard (50,600).
High Roller champion Aleksandras Voisnis (37,000), runner-up [Removed:44] (10,800) and third-place finisher Il Dieko Rati Vale (195,200) also bagged up chips while just one of the four PMU.fr Team Pros advanced in Johan Guilbert (122,700), who was fourth the previous night in the High Roller. Guilbert's team mates Sarah Herzali, Erwann Pecheux and Francois Tosques, as well as approximately half of the online qualifiers were felted.
Romain Lewis became the first casualty of the day when he ran with kings into aces and his subsequent attempts were not crowned by success either. Anas Tadini and Bernard Guigon were sent to the rail several times, while Remi Castaignon, Tom Bedell, Imad Derwiche, Andrew King, Javier Zarco, Omar Lakhdari, Abdelhadi Kondah and Marius Conan were no longer in contention at the end of the night either.
The prize pool information will be released once the cards get back in the air for Day 2 as of noon local time on Saturday October 7th 2017 with level 12 and blinds of 800-1,600 and a running ante of 200. Stay tuned to PokerNews throughout the next two days to find out who will be crowned champion in sunny Marrakech.

"Time on table 14 please," the dealer demanded while Ludovic Moryousef in the big blind was still to act. Moryousef had defended his big blind against a raise by [Removed:445] and check-called a bet of 3,000 on the flop. After the

Once the floor arrived and confirmed that the clocks will be stopped to draw for the last hands, the player apologized and asked not to ask for time. Moryousef folded moments later while Haho nodded and flashed the .
