Dewald Eliminates Richards

Niveau 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Anthony Dewald opened to 12,000 from the cutoff and Aarryn Richards re-raised all in for 59,000 on the button. The action was back on Dewald who made the call.

Anthony Dewald: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Aarryn Richards: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

The flop came {a-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Richards was left drawing slim. The turn was the {4-Hearts} which meant Dewald had a lock on the hand before the {10-Diamonds} completed the board. After the stacks were counted, Dewald had Richards covered bringing the field to just 28 players.

Dechant Shoves the River

Niveau 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

On a flop of {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades} in a three-way pot, the player in the small blind checked to Dieter Dechant in the big blind. He put out a bet of 12,000 and found one call from the player in the middle position.

The turn was the {3-Hearts} and Dechant led out again, this time betting 20,000. His opponent tanked for a long while before calling.

On the {5-Clubs} river, Dechant shoved all in for over 30,000. His opponent folded quickly and Dechant took down the big pot to chip up.

"Were you open-ended?" Dechant asked after the hand, to which his opponent nodded. Dechant then showed his {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}, stating "I had the best hand."

Hanson Misses Everything

Isaac Hanson
Isaac Hanson

Katie Kopp opened to 8,000 from the hijack and Isaac Hanson shipped all in for his last 35,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Kopp quickly made the call.

Katie Kopp: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Isaac Hanson: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}

Hanson was in trouble heading to the flop but when the dealer fanned the {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, Hanson picked up plenty of outs. Unfortunately for him, the turn and river bricked off and Kopp's aces held on for the knockout.

Last Break of the Night

Niveau 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

The remaining 40 players are taking their last 20-minute break of the night. There will be four more levels and then everyone will bag and tag for Day 2 on Thursday.

Edwards Finds a Crucial Double Up

Niveau 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Noel Edwards jammed all in for 35,400 from middle position and Thomas Yenowine made the call from the small blind sitting on one of the big stacks in the room.

Noel Edwards: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Thomas Yenowine: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Edwards took a commanding lead in the hand. The {8-Spades} on the turn raised some eyebrows as Yenowine picked up an open-ended straight draw, but the {j-Hearts} on the river merely gave him a pair of jacks. Edwards held on for a double up prior to the last break of the night.

Tom Booker Sends One Home

Niveau 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

After a raise from Dieter Dechant and a call from Tom Booker, the player in the big blind moved all in for 9,800. Both Dechant and Booker called creating heads-up side action.

The flop was {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and both players checked to see the {A-Hearts} on the turn. There, Dechant checked, then called a bet of 10,000 from Booker.

The river was the {J-Spades} and Dechant checked a second time. This time, he folded to a bet of 10,000 from Booker, who showed his {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} and it was good enough to best the big blind's {Q-Hearts}{7-Spades}. Booker took down the pot and moved to right around 135,000 chips.

Langwell Busts to Kopp

Niveau 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

According to players at the table, Whitney Langwell moved all in from under the gun for 10,100. Action folded around and Katie Kopp called from the big blind.

Katie Kopp: {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Whitney Langwell: {J-Spades}{5-Spades}

The board ran out {A-}{J-}{6-}{5-}{6-} which gave Langwell two pair on the turn, but Kopp made a better two pair on the river and that eliminated Langwell from the tournament, taking home a few bucks for her cash.

Hufty Scoops a Hefty Pot

Niveau 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

There was an all in for 22,100 from early position and Jordan Hufty just flat-called on the button. The big blind tanked for a couple minutes and eventually laid his hand down.

Hufty instantly flipped over {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} while his opponent was in trouble with {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. The flop fell {j-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts} giving Hufty a sweat but the {10-Diamonds} on the turn and the {6-Hearts} on the river changed nothing. Hufty held on to eliminate his opponent and scoop a healthy pot.
