Resnick Bluffing With the Best Hand

Niveau 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Three players saw a flop of {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and the big blind led out for 500. Jonah Resnick raised to 1,000 from late position and the button folded. The big blind called and the {10-Diamonds} rolled off on the turn.

The big blind checked this time and Resnick continued for another 1,500. His opponent called again and the {2-Clubs} completed the board. The big blind checked one more time and Resnick pushed all in for around 3,000, which led to his opponent instantly folding {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} face up. Resnick also held a flush draw that missed with {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and realized he actually had the best hand with a pair of deuces.

Hollis Up, Hollis Back Down

Niveau 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

A player under the gun limped in and Bryan Hollis called from the cutoff. The small blind completed and the big blind checked his option, bringing players four ways to the flop.

The flop was {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and all four players checked to see the {6-Clubs} come on the turn. There the big blind put out a bet of 100 which the UTG player and Hollis both called while the small blind folded.

The {10-Clubs} on the river brought checks from all three players. The big blind showed his {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and with his two pair he was awarded the pot as the other two mucked.

The defending champ lost a small amount in the hand, but still sits will with nearly 9,000 chips.

The face of WSOP social media, Kevin "Kevmath" Mathers, is in a humble mood to start the day. He was just delivered a couple of sandwiches from the cafe and then noted his lack of chips already.

"I'm doing better in this than I am at poker. I have two sandwiches and 3,500 chips ten minutes in. You can report on that."

Mathers will need to spin up his stack in this fast-paced tournament if he wants to avoid hitting the registration desk for a second bullet.
