Gordon Stacks Le

Niveau 19 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

John Gordon limped from early position, Dien Le raised to 40,000 from the small blind, and Gordon called.

The flop came {K-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Le bet the pot. Gordon raised to put Le to a decision for the remainder of his stack and he called to put himself at risk.

John Gordon: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Dien Le: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{7-Spades}

Gordon had the lead with top set and Le needed to hit a spade or the case ace in order to catch up. The {5-Diamonds} turn and {J-Clubs} river changed nothing, so Gordon took the pot to send Le to the cage.

Haas Holds to Eliminate Alexander

Niveau 19 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

With 50,000 already in the middle George Alexander bet 45,000 into Ryan Haas on a flop of {A-Spades}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs}. After some deliberation Haas made the call.

On the {Q-Clubs} turn Alexander then bet all-in for his remaining 142,000 putting Haas to a decision for the majority of his stack. After taking a minute or so to think it over, Haas made the call.

Alexander tabled {J-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for a flush draw and open-ended straight draw against Haas two pair of {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. The river bricked out on a {4-Diamonds} and Alexander was the latest to make his way to the payout cage.

Racener Eliminated by Gordon

Niveau 19 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
John Racener
John Racener

John Racener and John Gordon were engaged in a battle of the blinds when we got to the table. Racener was in the big with a barely covering stack and the two players got all the chips in before the flop, creating a pot of about 275,000.

John Racener: {K-}{K-}{X-}{X-}
John Gordon: {A-}{A-}{X-}{X-}

Gordon had the preflop advantage and Racener needed to improve in order to stack him. The board ran out five high, connecting with neither player, so Gordon took the pot to leave Racener with crumbs.

Two hands later, Racener got the last of his stack in from the button against Gordon and Gregory Wood. Both players checked all the way down on the {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} board, and when all the hands were tabled, Gordon's {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{7-Spades} was best, so he took the pot to end Racener's run in this event.

Christopher Trang opened from middle position to 20,000 with Rick Fuller calling on the button. The two saw a flop of {6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and it checked through. The turn brought a {4-Clubs} and Trang check-called a bet of 30,000 from Fuller. The river fell a {4-Diamonds} and Trang paused a few seconds before putting forth a bet of 50,000 sending Fuller into the tank. After a minute or so had passed Fuller announced "call" with Trang showing him {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for the nut flush putting the day 1 chip leader back over 300,000.

Craig Varnell

Ludovic Geilich opened from late position to 20,000 with Craig Varnell raising pot to 96,000 to put Geilich at risk. After thinking it over for a moment, Geilich commited rest of stack.

With no more action, the board ran out {3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{K-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Varnell rolled over {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{10-Clubs} and his aces were good enough to eliminate Geilich.

Bahl Booms Near One Million

Niveau 18 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
Anuj Bahl
Anuj Bahl

Anuj Bahl had both Sergio Benso and Henry Hull all in and at risk on a flop of {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and around 300,000 in the pot. Benso showed {Q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, Hull had {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, and Bahl held {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts}. The turn revealed the {5-Clubs}, granting Bahl the wheel, and the {J-Spades} river changed nothing except Benso and Hull collecting their belongings on their way to the rail.
