Kaye Sends One Home

Niveau 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

The player in early position opened to 500. David Kaye, in the hijack, three-bet to 1,225. The button called. The original raiser four-bet shoved for 12,200. Kaye reshoved for around 34,000. The button folded.

David Kaye: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}

''I have three outs, but I'm a non believer'' commented the original raiser.

The board ran {4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Kaye won the pot, sending his opponent to the exit.

Set Over Set Becomes Quads

Niveau 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

The {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop was already out and three players were in contention.

There had been a check, followed by a 1,100 bet by Yves Grenon and then a 3,500 three-bet. This pushed the first player off but not Grenon, who moved all in for about 16,000, which was enough to cover his opponent. His opponent called and they turned their cards over. It was top set with {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for Grenon, which gave the {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} of the other player just one live card in the deck.

The {a-Hearts} made no difference and the {9-Hearts} still meant Grenon had the best hand, albeit that it had improved to quads. Grenon collected the pot and started stacking up the 31,200 chips.

Top Pair's Good for Akenhead

Niveau 5 : 100/200, 25 ante
James Akenhead
James Akenhead

Main Event finalist, James Akenhead just added some more chips to his stack.

He defended {q-Spades}{9-Spades} in the big blind versus an open and one call.

The {q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop gave him top pair and he check-called a bet from the initial raiser. The turn brought a {6-Clubs} and Akenhead check-called once more. The river was a brick and, after a third check from Akenhead, his opponent didn't fire for a third time and mucked on seeing the pair of queens.

Araya Doubles Through Mossey

Niveau 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

Abraham Araya opened to 500, in middle position. Molly Mossey three-bet to 1,500 from one seat over. Araya four-bet shoved for 5,875. Mossey took a few seconds of reflection, talking to Araya, but proceeded to make the call.

Molly Mossey: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Abraham Araya: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

''We are not in fact flipping'' commented Mossey

''It's a different kind of flip!'' answered one of her tablemates.

The board came {8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Araya stayed ahead.
