Good Start for Gimbel

Niveau 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Harrison Gimbel just eliminated a player and is now up to 44,000. Everything went in the middle preflop, with Gimbel in very good shape holding {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} versus his opponent's {a-}{k-} and the latter's stack of 12,000 in the middle.

The board didn't change anything, and Gimbel added more chips to begin the day.

Polychronopoulos Chips Down

Niveau 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

A player in middle position opened to 2,600 and only Athanasios Polychronopoulos in the big blind made the call.

It wasn't enough to win the pot as his opponent tabled {7-Clubs}{7-Spades} and Polychronopoulos mucked his hand. He is now down to a stack worth 24,000.

Canada's Maxime Heroux just took down a considerable pot after betting big on the river against three opponents.

The board read {10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs} with around 38,000 in the pot when Heroux bet 25,000 after the action was checked to him. The next player to act got the bet verified before going into the tank. After a minute's thought he folded, Heroux's other two opponents instantly mucked, and the Canadian, who finished fourth in this year's Event 19: $565 Pot-Limit Omaha for $60,190, took down the pot.
