It began with a limp in the small blind from Hellmuth and a check from Alexander Lakhov in the big.

The flop fell {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Hellmuth bet 7,000 and Lakhov called. Then the {q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} turn and river both went check-check.

"Small pair" announced Hellmuth as he turned over {6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. It was good enough.
