Break Time

Niveau 6 : 150/300, 50 ante

Players are taking their second break of the day. With two tables already playing to a winner, the next few levels are expected to see many more players make it through to Day 2.

Hellmuth Takes Out the Opposition

Niveau 6 : 150/300, 50 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth has just taken down the first round of the shootout and is the third player to do so.

It began with a min-raise by Hellmuth and a call from his opponent.

{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

On the flop, it went check, a 900 continuation from Hellmuth, a 2,200 raise, a 4,100 three-bet by Hellmuth, and finally an all in for around 10,000, which was called.

Phil Hellmuth {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Opponent {6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

It was top two pair for the 14-time bracelet winner and he was in pretty good shape.

The {6-Hearts}{a-Clubs} turn and river bricked and Hellmuth locked up a cash and will take 65,400 through to Day 2. He finished in (almost) record time, which is quite different to the last time he played a shootout tournament, where he was one of the last to finish the day.

Niveau 6 : 150/300, 50 ante
William Kakon
William Kakon

William Kakon was the last man standing on Table #84. He has just bagged up 63,200 chips to take through to tomorrow.

With the massive chip lead on his opponent, he pushed all in with {k-}{4-} and was called by {a-}{3-}. He managed to find some help on the river and has secured himself a cash in the process.

Fourth Heads-Up Table

Niveau 6 : 150/300, 50 ante

Table #58 is now also heads up with both players having a pretty even stack:

Pieczynski Pulls Ahead

Niveau 6 : 150/300, 50 ante

James Pieczynski has extended his lead versus his two opponents on Table #29.

The board read {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Pieczynski bet 5,000, which Ralph Porter called.

Pieczynski turned over {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for the ace-high flush, and Porter sent his cards into the muck.
