Omaha and Stud Fans Get Ready, Event #46: $2,500 Mixed Omaha Hi-Lo/Stud Hi-Lo About to Start

Welcome back to PokerNews' coverage of the 2018 World Series of Poker. Mixed game maniacs get ready because Event #46: Mixed Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better/Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better is about to kick off.

Last year, Smith Sirisakorn topped a field of 405 players to take down a first place prize of $215,902. Sirisakorn battled it out at an extremely tough final table containing Barry Greenstein, Jameson Painter, Alex Luneau, and Jared Bleznick to lock up his first gold bracelet. Before that, Sirisakorn had no live recorded cashes.

This event represents the only mixed stud and Omaha tournament this series, so it's one of a kind in its own right. Players can consider it a warm-up of sorts for Event #64: $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship which kicks off on July 1, or a cooldown from Event #9: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship which Paul Volpe took down just a few weeks ago now.

Today, players are set to play ten, one-hour levels kicking off at 3 p.m. (PDT). Players will start with 12,500 chips and late registration will be open and running until right around midnight. Action will kick off with limits of 150-300 and is scheduled to go on for three days of play. PokerNews will be here to cover it all, so make sure to stay tuned in.
