Ian Simpson

Ian Simpson was left short with around 35,000 after an earlier confrontation with ace-king against pocket queens and ace-eight, in which the queens held.

Simpson got his last chips into the middle with {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and didn't get any help from the board after he was called by pocket fours.

Simpson will be back to play the WSOP Main Event later this week after he won his seat via the 888poker online satellites earlier this year.

Vincent Li opened to 13,000 on the button and called a three-bet to 36,000 from Ami Barer in the big blind. Both players checked a {q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop and the {8-Spades} hit the turn.

Barer bet 19,000 and Li called.

The {7-Hearts} completed the board and Barer bet 47,000. Li took a few moments before shoving all in for about 250,000 and Barer snap-called tabling the {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for a full house.

Li revealed the {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a nut flush and made his way to the payout desk.
