The penultimate Event #7: $565 COLOSSUS No-Limit Hold’em starting flight has come to its conclusion after Kurt Jewell ended as the Day 1e chip leader with 474,000 in the Brasilia room of the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.

With the final two COLOSSUS flights taking place today there was a lot of potential for a big field as players gave it one last go at making Day 2 on Tuesday, June 5 and that proved to be the case as over 1,400 entrants were sat in their seats by the 10 a.m. start time.

By the time registration had closed after level 8, a total of 3,202 entrants had come together to make Day 1e the largest flight so far.

Ryan Laplante, Simon Deadman, and Barry Greenstein were among the notable names playing in the early levels, but they were unable to secure their places on the list of 127 players that ultimately bagged chips.

Mike Commiso (390,000) and Tyler Patterson (238,000) were two of the names to join Jewell at the top of the chip counts.

Day 2 will see ten 60-minute levels played out when the play restarts at 2 p.m. and the PokerNews live reporting team will once again be bringing you all the action.
