Sokchheka Pho moved his remaining chips all in with {q-}{q-}{10-} on third and Donny Rubinstein called with his {a-}{k-}{10-}. Each players received the rest of their hands and Pho did not improve his pair of queens.

Rubinstein, on the other hand, did as his hand turned into two pair aces over fours. Rubinstein scooped in the pot, eliminating Pho from the tournament.

Sokchheka Pho opened to 25,000 from the hijack and Philip Long defended his big blind. The flop came down {q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and action checked to Pho who threw in 30,000.

Long check-raised to 125,000, Pho called and the {3-Diamonds} fell on the turn. Long fired in 145,000 and Pho swiftly called to see the {2-Diamonds} river card.

Long reached for chips and pushed in 220,000. Pho thought for a brief moment then called and Long turned over {q-Hearts}{7-Spades} for two pair. Pho slammed his hand into the muck and Long took down the massive pot on the final day.

Stud Hi-Lo

Chris Bjorin was all in for his last 21,000 on fourth street and Philip Long had an easy call to make, holding four-to-a-wheel.

Bjorin: {10-Clubs}{9-Spades} / {3-Hearts}{j-Spades}{a-Spades}{4-Clubs} / {6-Diamonds}
Long: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} / {4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} / {a-Clubs}

Long finished with the wheel and Bjorin stood up. "I'm not nervous anymore," the two-time bracelet winner from Sweden said while leaving the tournament area.

Long is now playing over 1 million in chips.

Kessler Sends Brink Out the Door

Niveau 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Frederik Brink
Frederik Brink

Limit Hold'em

Allen Kessler opened from the hijack, Chris Klodnicki made it three bets on the cutoff and Frederik Brink pushed in 42,000 as he moved all in for less. Kessler called the three-bet of Klodnicki and the two now had a side pot as Brink was all in for the main.

The flop fell {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, action checked to Klodnicki who fired in a bet that was instantly check-raised by Kessler. Klodnicki just as quickly folded and the remaining two tabled their hands.

Brink turned over {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, giving him a pair of dimes and Kessler had him dominated with his {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}, for a higher pair of ladies. The board came down {2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} on the turn and river, changing nothing, as Kessler's queens held on to eliminate Brink from the tournament.

Souza found himself drawing dead on sixth as Vitch pulled in the pot with his {10-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}, eliminating the Brazilian in 16th place.

Rubinstein Wins a Massive Three-Way Pot in O8

Donny Rubinstein
Donny Rubinstein

Omaha Hi-Lo

With two bets invested preflop, Donny Rubinstein, John Trumbul, and Maria Souza made it to the {9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop. Rubinstein checked from the small blind and Trumbul fired from the cutoff. Souza raised on his left and Rubinstein made it three bets. Both of his opponents called.

Rubinstein bet on {q-Diamonds} and he received two calls. The {2-Hearts} completed the board and Rubinstein fired one more time. Trumbul took a while and then slid in calling chips and then it was time for Souza to process the situation. He eventually called as well.

Rubinstein turned up {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for the second nut straight and scooped the whole pot as both Trumbul and Souza mucked. Souza asked Trumbul what he had held and Trumbul claimed that he had a set of tens.

A Champion Will be Crowned in Event #23: $1,500 Eight Game Mix

Defending Champion Philip Long
Defending Champion Philip Long

Welcome back to the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, and the 50th Annual World Series of Poker for the final day of the Event #23: $1,500 Eight Game Mix. The original 612 player field has now dwindled down to the final 28 who will be returning today to battle it out for a shot of the $177,294 first place prize and a WSOP gold bracelet.

Starting the day in the chipleader role is Canada's Alex Livingston with a stack of 587,000. Livingston started the second day off strong and never really went back as he continued his heater throughout the latter stages of the night. Underneath Livingston on the leaderboard with 395,000 is a well-known mixed game specialist in Chris Vitch after a rollercoaster of a day that never had him short but did have him swinging from big to average stack on several occasions.

A red-hot Murilo Souza will be starting the day third with 383,000 in chips and all of the momentum in the world. Souza is fresh off of a bracelet victory in Event #14: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E that he won under a week ago and will be in contention for another here today. Just when you thought the competition and storylines couldn't get any better, Philip Long shows up and blows all expectations away. Long will be attempting to go back-to-back in this event and amazingly sits near the top of the counts with 353,000.

Day 3 begins at 2 p.m. local time with the players returning to action filled limits of 10,000/20,000. The levels will remain 60-minutes in length and there will be a 15-minute break after every two levels of play, with a 60-minute dinner break at the end of level 6. Play will not stop until a winner is crowned, collecting the $177,294 and a WSOP bracelet.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be bringing you all the action throughout the day, so stay tuned!
