Day 1c of Event #3 - BIG 50 $500 No Limit Hold'em Set to Kick Off at 10 a.m. as Day is Sold Out

BIG 50
BIG 50

Welcome to Day 1c of Event #3: BIG 50 - $500 No-Limit Hold'em! So far, two massive opening flights have kicked off this special anniversary tournament, and with all the initial seats sold out for today's 1c flight, this flight also looks to be one of massive proportions.

Yesterday, Alexander Kartveli managed to bag a healthy 892,000 in chips as one of the top stacks in the Day 1b flight. That is slightly less than the 932,000 chips that Cosimo Bisogno bagged on Day 1a. Other notables that filled a bag for Day 2b include Jordan Bane (685,000), Michael Anton (622,000) WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hui (414,000), 2017 WSOP Player of the Year Chris Ferguson (345,000), Jake Schwartz (257,000) and Jamie Kerstetter (115,000).

Cards will be in the air for Day 1c at 10 a.m. local time. The $500 buy-in gets you 50,000 chips and today's current schedule is to play 12 levels of 50-minute duration, though this may be amended, as yesterday's flight played 13 levels instead of 12. There will be 20-minute breaks every two levels with a 75-minute dinner break after Level 8 (Approximately 5:40 p.m.). Players are allowed to reenter this event once per flight, and late registration and re-entry are open until the start of Level 11 (around 8:55 p.m.).

Players who navigate the field today will return on Monday, June 3rd at 10 a.m. for their Day 2c flight, giving players a day off in between flights. Anyone unfortunate enough to bust today's flight has one final chance to advance, with tomorrow's Day 1d flight kicking off at 10 a.m. as well. That flight will likely sell out as well, so if you haven't already registered, now's the time to do so!

A player in middle position checked a {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades} board over to Edmond, Oklahoma native Mike Berger who was next to act, and Berger bet 2,700 into a pot of 7,000. His opponent tossed in a call.

The {9-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, and the middle position player checked again. Berger bet 3,300, and after about a minute, his opponent verbalized a call.

"Flush," Berger said before rolling over {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. His opponent mucked.

Bouziden Triples Up Early

Niveau 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Tom Bouziden is sitting on a stack of 155,000 after a huge hand in the first level of the day.

He shared the details of the hand, in which he held {10-}{10-} on the small blind and hit a set on the flop. He checked the flop, and facing a bet and a call, put in the check-raise and got both players to call.

Bouziden then went all-in on the turn, and both players once again called. His set of tens was up against AA and KK, and Bouziden was in great shape for a Level 1 triple-up.

The river came a safe {6-Spades}, and Bouziden is sitting on one of the early big stacks on Day 1c.

Hesp is Here to Play Poker

John Hesp is seated in the Amazon room, and he says he's ready to play some big pots.

The 2017 Main Event fourth-place finisher is siting on 48,000 chips, but he shared that he's not waiting around for premium hands, and that we can expect him to mix it up in plenty of pots throughout the day.

The player to his immediate left is keeping a detailed notebook of every hand, and Hesp is happily giving him as much information as possible. One hand saw Hesp fold his small blind face up, showing {a-}{6-} and giving the "notebook" player a walk on the big blind.

"I'll give you information for free," said a smiling Hesp.
