McNurlan, Richardson Neck and Neck

Niveau 35 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Adam Richardson
Adam Richardson

James McNurlan and Adam Richardson are pulling away from the rest of the field, and the two monster stacks got into it with each other on a hand that saw McNurlan open for 1.1 million from the hijack.

Richardson called, and Howard Mash came along on the big blind. The flop came {q-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{a-Hearts}, the action checked to Richardson and he put another 1.1 million in the pot. Mash folded, and McNurlan called.

The {5-Diamonds} hit on the turn, McNurlan checked and Richardson upped his bet size to 2.5 million, once again getting the call from McNurland. Both players checked the river {9-Diamonds}, and Richardson took it down with {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for top pair. McNurlan turned up the Kd as he mucked.

Mash Has Lost Both "Mo" and "Jo"

Niveau 35 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

When Jean-René Fontaine jammed in an open spot pre for his five million or so remaining chips, everyone folded. He flipped up his {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} in characteristic silent fashion. Neighbour Howard Mash said, "I'd kill to get a hand like that," lamenting his reversal of fortune on Day 4.

"You've lost your Mo and your Jo," agreed Adam Davidson.

The next hand, Jim McNurlan opened for 2,200,000 and although big blind Samir Husaynue thought about it, he folded. McNurlan showed him {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}.

"I have more chips, I would've played that hand," said Husaynue.

Mike Lisanti
Mike Lisanti

Mike Lisanti went all in for his last 3,875,000 from the cutoff, and got a call from Farhad Jamasi on the big blind. The stacks were close, with Jamasi covering by about a million.

Mike Lisanti: {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Farhad Jamasi: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Board: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}{j-Clubs}{4-Spades}

Lisanti told PokerNews on Day 3 that he hoped to be the last Canadian standing in this tournament, and he accomplished that goal.

A bit pot just brought Adam Richardson's stack up within sniffing distance of erstwhile mega-leader Jim McNurlan's (he won several small pots before this one, too). Preflop, Richardson raised to 625,000 and called a button three-bet (1,600,000 total) from Farhad Jamasi.

Flop: {6-Clubs}{9-Spades}{k-Spades}. Richardson checked to Jamasi, who fired 2,100,000. Richardson called, saying, "one time."

Turn: {a-Hearts}. Again Richardson check-called Jamasi's bet, this time 2,200,000 and updating his comment to, "two times."

River: {7-Clubs}. Both players checked and Richardson turned over {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}. It was good; Jamasi folded and Richardson said, "I'm sticky, I told you."

McNurlan Holding Steady

James Mcnurlan

The last few minutes of Level 34 haven't seen many big pots, but chip leader James Mcnurlan did take a small pot over his closest competitor, Adam Richardson.

Richardson opened to 625,000 under the gun, and McNurlan called in the small blind. The flop came out {q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}, and the action checked through. McNurlan checked again on the {6-Clubs} turn, and Richardson fired a small bet for 500,000.

McNurlan called, and both players checked the river {3-Clubs}. McNurlan showed down {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Richardson mucked.

Lisanti Jams without Kicking Mcnurlan

Niveau 34 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
James Mcnurlan

Mike Lisanti moved all in for 4,000,000 (as he seems to do once an orbit, keeping roughly level for the last hour) over the top of a preflop call from Jim McNurlan, who folded, showing pocket threes.

"You didn't kick me first," lamented McNurlan, who wished he'd gotten advance warning of the jam. Lisenti showed {a-}{k-} and picked up the small pot.

While the next hand was being dealt, the table discussed their varying happiness levels. Samir Husaynue said of Mcnurlan, "On a scale of one to ten, he's a ten."

"I used to be a ten, I ran like god yesterday," said Howard Mash.
