States Adds to His Stack Just Before Break

Niveau 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

After Daniel States limped from under-the-gun, Ken Yamamoto raised it to 1,500 from the next seat over, and action folded to Yake Wu who called from his big blind. States then limp-raised to 4,500, and both Yamamoto and Wu came along. Wu check-called States' 5,000 bet on the {2-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Spades} flop after Yamamoto folded, sending the players headsup to the {7-Hearts} turn. Wu then check-folded after States' second barrel, that time for 8,000.

After Testoni checked the {7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{j-Hearts} flop, Pilossoph continued for 2,800, which got a check-call from Masterson, but was met with a check-raise to 8,000 from Testoni. Pilossoph gave his cards another look before he released them and Masterson also found a fold.

Merda Scoops Large Pot, Busts Opponent

Niveau 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

In a four-way pot with the board reading {9-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{j-Spades}, Meir Avigal, who was one of the big stacks in the early stages of the tournament, put out a bet of 2,700 from the big blind. He got a call from the second player to act in middle position. Igor Merda then raised to 8,200, which folded out the fourth player in the hand in the small blind.

Avigal called Merda's raise and the player in middle position re-popped it for the rest of his stack, which was for 12,800. Getting a good price, Merda and Avigal both called the all in.

The river came the {5-Diamonds}. Avigal checked it over to Merda who then moved all in himself for his remaining 27,000. Avigal shook his head and looked aggravated before reluctantly giving it up.

Merda turned over the {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for the winning flush as the all in player showed {q-}{j-} and went away busted and Merda added a large amount to his stack.

Olsen Shows the Bluff

Niveau 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Preflop action folded around to Jesper Olsen, and he completed his small blind and William Toh checked his option from the big blind. After both players checked through to the turn on a board reading {j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{5-Spades}, Olsen led out for 1,000, only to get raised to 2,800 by Toh.

Olsen thought it out for a moment, made the call and then led out again on the {7-Hearts} turn, upping the bet to 6,000. Toh tanked for about a minute before he released his hand, at which time Olsen tabled {9-Spades}{3-Spades} for the missed flush draw.

Teague Turns Two Pair

Niveau 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Fernando Yamaguchi moved all in on a flop that read {q-}{4-}{k-}. He got a call from Michael Teague. Yamaguchi was in good shape as he held the {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for two pair which was leading the {k-}{9-} of Teague.

The turn changed everything when a {9-} rolled off to give Teague the better two pair and the {5-} on the river confirmed Teague's double up.

Black Blankets Opponent

Niveau 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

With a board that read {7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{9-Spades} Ronald Black moved all in. His opponent mulled it over for a little while before making the call.

Black showed the {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} which dominated the {k-Hearts}{k-Spades} of his opponent, not only as the higher overpair but with the higher heart for the better flush draw as well. The river came the {4-Hearts} to improve Black's hand to the unbeatable nut flush and bust his opponent.

Vogel Happy With Top Two

Niveau 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Jason Vogel raised from under-the-gun and got three callers, including the player in the big blind. After the big-blind player checked on the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop, Vogel continued for 1,200, which narrowed the field down to headsup play. Both players then checked the {6-Diamonds} turn and {2-Clubs} river, Vogel tabled {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} for top two pair and his opponent folded. Vogel was happy to take down the pot after a tablemate mentioned that it wasn't the best runout for Vogel's hand.
