Ziegler Doubles Through Pham

Niveau 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Tobias Ziegler was all in for 348,000 against Cong Pham, who had him barely covered.

Tobias Ziegler: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Cong Pham: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The mighty pair of treys held up on the {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} run out and Ziegler doubled, leaving Pham on 48,000.

One hand later, Petko Tsakov raised to 60,000 first to act and Joel Feldman in the cutoff three-bet to 200,000. Pham asked for the stack size of Tsakov, who he could barely see in the one seat, and called all in. Tsakov gave it some thought and folded.

Cong Pham: {k-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Joel Feldman: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

The board came {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Pham more tripled up.

Patrick Mahoney
Patrick Mahoney

Patrick Mahoney was spotted on his way to the payout desk and Shaun Deeb collected the chips to further cement his lead with four tables remaining.

According to Deeb, Mahoney had raised the pot in the small blind with {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Spades} and Deeb called with {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}. On a {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop they got it in, and Deeb hit the {6-Diamonds} turn and {q-Diamonds} river run out to deal the final blow.

Park Doubles Through Hueber

Niveau 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

All the chips were in the middle with the board down {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Peter Park had secured a double up through Thomas Hueber.

Hueber's cards were in the muck, but Park held {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for a full house and moved up to 610,000 with Hueber left to play on with just 120,000.

Eyster Thriving

On a flop of {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, Dash Dudley check-raised a bet of 60,000 by Will Jaffe and that won the pot to nearly even out the stacks of Dudley and Jaffe. On their table, Adam Hendrix and Jeremy Ausmus also hold big stacks, while Shaun Deeb and Kevin Eyster have shot up the leader board.

Eyster had been responsible for the elimination of Ryan D'Angelo and just scooped a decent pot against Thomas Hueber.

On the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} turn, Eyster in the cutoff checked and called a bet of Hueber on the button for 150,000. The {j-Diamonds} river was checked and Eyster rolled over {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} for a full house.

Sandeep Pulusani
Sandeep Pulusani

The flop was down {3-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and Sandeep Pulusani's all in for 140,000 was called by Francesco Grande.

Pulusani tabled {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} but was behind against Grande's {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}.

The turn {2-Clubs} and river {6-Spades} didn't change the situation and Pulusani was eliminated as Grande rose to 1,400,000.

Wantman Departs

Matthew Wantman
Matthew Wantman

Adam Hendrix raised to 48,000 from the cutoff and saw fellow big stack Will Jaffe call from the small blind. Matthew Wantman then moved his 167,000 stack into the middle and saw Hendrix call after 30 seconds of thought.

With the decision back on Jaffe, he pondered his next move for 20 seconds before announcing pot and saw Hendrix snap-fold.

Jaffe: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Wantman: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Board: {q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}

Wantman picked up the straight draw on the flop, but Jaffe improved to bottom set. Wantman was unable to improve and became the latest player to depart on Day 3.

Sanders and D'Angelo No More

Niveau 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

In a battle of the blinds, the flop showed {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{9-Spades} and that's where things escalated between Joseph Sanders in the small blind and Francesco Grande in the big blind.

Joseph Sanders: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Francesco Grande: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}

Sanders was marginally ahead, but Grande had a lot of outs with his live cards and an additional flush draw. The {6-Diamonds} turn was a blank, but the {10-Diamonds} river improved Grande, who was briefly railed by former November Niner Federico Butteroni.

Only moments later, Ryan D'Angelo was also spotted on his way to the payout desk.

Pham's Shoves Gets Through

Niveau 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Ka Kwan Lau raised from early position and saw Cong Pham reraise to 216,000 from the button. Lau made the call after the action had folded back to him, and the flop fell {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

Pham moved all in for 206,000 after Lau had checked, and the latter went into the tank after the amount was confirmed.

Lau needed 30 seconds of thinking but ultimately gave in to the pressure and folded to give Pham the pot.

Down to 37 Players

Niveau 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

The all in and call showdowns keep coming at a rapid pace and among those to bust were David Eldridge and Mohsin Virani. The former had last been seen with just a handful of big blinds and Virani was ousted by Ryan Day just prior to that.

They got it in after the {q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Spades} flop and Virani tabled {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for top pair, while Day had the {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a set. The {10-Diamonds} turn gave Virani some outs, but the {q-Spades} river was a blank.
